Ordered new front shocks from World Wide Auto Parts. I had sent mine in to be rebuilt but they were in too bad of a condition. Received the replacements, real good shipping and packaging. Installed the shocks and went for a drive in the mountains here in western Colorado. 40 degrees outside, sun shinning and the top down. Doesn't get much better than that except for warmer weather.

Not exactly on my "B" but rather for my "B". Cleaned and workrd on a UNF/UNC tap and dye set I purchased from the USA on eBay.
Have undercoated the container they came and as soon as the fierce electrical storm which is pounding my town at the moment, I will spray on a top coat. The set should make my screws, bolts and nuts a lot easier to use!

Haha - I know the feeling. I was a bit nervous myself, as this was the first check. It was definitely a nice surprise when I saw those numbers.

Returned a 72" battery cable to Walmart because it (the longest one they had) didn't reach from my battery to my starter. Pulled off the old DPO spliced-together cable to see if it was still serviceable. Measured it to be 60". confused smiley

Sunday, took a short drive with a local club, about 80 miles round trip.

Stopped here for a while.

Take the time to understand what a part does and how it does it, then you'll have a better understanding of how to fix it when it goes wrong. Beats the scattergun approach every time.

Ignition testing made easy.

Hey Dennis, are you trying to confuse us? Have you been on the bottle?? The longer one was to short !?!? You should be able to make your old one serviceable as long as you solder any splices and insulate them really well. And while you're at it the terminals will most likely also benefit from a bit of attention. I'm sure you know all this but this advice may be of use to novice owners. Good luck, Mike

Finally removed drivers side motor mount and bracket! Also a club member brought over a good used tan interior. I'm going to change from black to tan which will complement the Dansk Red better than black.

Well, I did this Sun-Mon-Tues night, but I replaced the rear springs and rebound straps and the related hardware and bushings and installed a new rear u-joint on the driveshaft and lubed up the front joint and slip joint.

After doing about 400 fun miles last week, regretfully covered it up not to be driven till Sat while the new window tint cures. Its just too damn hot here this winter to have the windows up while driving. sad smiley

The tint job was the BEST I've ever had (I did do 4 hrs of prep for the guy though) Pics next week and kudos to David and Klaus @ Kustom Kar Sound and Tint, N. Miami Beach Fl. smileys with beer

Well today, she's in the garage.

But last week, the water pump started dripping slightly and the bearing showed a little play. So I installed a one on Friday.

Then on Sunday, I pre-ran the MG Coastal Tour route again that our local MGE group has scheduled for May 5, 2012.cool smiley It's a fun loop of @ 90 miles of back roads around the area and out to Sakonnet Point. Don't know how many MGs will turn out, but we already have @ two dozen that have expressed interest in joining us!thumbs up

Oh, and back to this past Sunday, the total miles added to the odometer were 162.smiling smiley A nice little drive!thumbs up

Cheers,

Rick

Well since I vowed not to touch my GT till Sat to let the window tint set up, today I started trying to save the original (rust-covered) jack bag. DPO was an idiot. The buckles are history sad smiley The vinyl is responding to scrubbing with CLR - gonna take a few applications ...

I know they're available but there's only one original.

Got caught in the snow we had today coming home from the shooting range! eye rolling smiley Top down, but bundled up. It was a blast!

Of course, now that we've had more snow and salt on the roads it won't be until after it rains again that I'll take it out.

Rick, let me know the next time you're going to run the route!!! I wanna go!!!

BTW . . . shot one inch groups at 200 yds and four inch groups at 500 yds, with one stray about two feet off.

It has been clinically proven that women can be satisfied with only 3.5 inches. It doesn't matter if it's Visa or Mastercard.

Hey Jed!

Last Sunday's run was a last minute thing (I had to wait for a guy from CT to pick up those Autumn Leaf seats for his GT).

It's suppose to rain this Saturday (cleaning the roads!), but I think my day has been spoken for on Sunday. Will be in touch!

Cheers,

Rick
