New Economy Engine Rebuild kits (6 replies)

When times, and budgets are tight
We must stretch a dollar with all our might
But we still want to get our MGs on the road
Running good, without spending a load
So call Acme Speed Shop, to help you get it right

Ok, there's my attempt at being a poet :)

Most of you know me for being a engine builder who builds high end MG engines for performance and race. Most of my engine rebuild kits up to this point have been using the high end parts I use on my in house engine rebuilds, not necessarily catering to the folks on a tight budget. With that being said, I wanted to use my engine building, and engine part experience to help the people on a tight budget, trying to breath new life into their MGs. So I assembled what I think it the best low cost approach to a MG engine rebuild kit. This kit still comes with my engine rebuilding articles, and my technical help, to get you through the project with success.

Example Kits

MGB 18V engine
Lower end rebuild kit
Includes:
Piston set
Cam bearings
Rod bearings
Main bearings
Oil pump
Core plug set
Master dual timing kit, includes both gears, timing chain and tensioner.
Thrust washer set
Front seal
Rear seal
Lower gasket set
$399

MGB 18V Cam and lifter set
New stock grind camshaft and lifter set
$200

MGB 18V cylinder head rebuilt kit
Includes
4 new stainless steel intake valves
4 new stainless steel exhaust valves
Valve guide set
Valve spring set
head gasket set
$135

Other MG economy engine rebuild kits available, call, or email for details.

I have been dealing with Sports cars for almost 40 years. 2 months ago I made an investment to start appraising Classic and Sports cars. I traveled to California to study under one of the premier Appraisers on the West Coast, Jeff Hyman. He started Classic Auto Appraisers in 1989 and has been going strong ever since. I now am certified to appraise cars in Alabama and the Southeast. I can also inspect an auto for someone looking to buy one here in the Good 'Ole South. The price is reasonable and I feel I'm qualified to do the job right. Call me @ 205-288-7142 or e-mail me at billthecarappraiser@gmail.com.
Hello fellow MG Experience members,

As many of you know, I have been a VTO wheel dealer from their beginnings, and I guess I did a pretty good job of it, because as of today, I got a promotion, I took over all sales for VTO Performance Wheels. Now when you dial VTOs toll free number 1-866-855-3473, you get me answering the phone, and as always I will try my very best to take care of your order. If you are currently a VTO dealer, I will also be handling your orders as well.

I would like to personally thank the MG Experience community for your support, the sales I made to many of you led VTO to believe in me, and for that I owe a big thank you, to you all.

Exciting new news for the VTO Wheels product line

14x5.5 for Spridgets in thew Classic 8, arriving soon

A new color for the Classic 8 will now be available in some sizes, the titanium color you now see on the VTO Lemans wheel, will be a new color offering in the near future for the Classic 8.

Also, we are getting into the final stages of development, and prototype work on the new VTO Classic 8 spline drive wheel for cars presently with spoke wheels.

Oh and kick this all off in style, any order made through the month of March gets $50.00 off your total of a set of 4 wheels order, just by mentioning this ad.

Thank you,
Hap Waldrop

Hi everyone,

"Group buys" are an important tool for small run production, and previously such efforts were in a "grey area" in terms of where they should be posted in the MG Experience Forums.

As such, I have renamed the "Vendor Deals Forum" to the "Vendor & Group Buy Forum" to be more inclusive.

As an added bonus, the Forum name is now much more prominent in the Forums List in the left-hand sidebar.
If you have any comments or questions, please contact me.
Thanks,

Interested in polyurethane rear valance??? (82 replies)

Hey Guys and Gals,
After the success of the Rideskinz LeMans GT polyurethane front valance, we will now be offering a rear POLYURETHANE valance similar to the Sebring version. This version will have a couple upgrades including a recess for the license plate and polyurethane caps for rubber bumper cars. The rear valances will be produced with the caps attached, so if you own a non rubber bumper car, you or your body shop will have to cut off the cap. Since polyurethane is very easy to cut, it shouldn't be a problem. I know there are tons of threads about the fiberglass Sebring valance not fitting or taking forever to get it just right, so I think our polyurethane version which is a bit more flexible and less prone to cracking will be a much better option. With that, the group buy sale price for the valance will be as follows:

MSRP: $395
Group buy price 1-15 buyers: $325 + $45 shipping and handling

***NEW Group buy price 16+ buyers: $295 + $35 shipping and handling!!!

*Hawaii, Alaska and all International customers please send us a message for a price on shipping
*California residents please add state sales tax
*Does not include any fees associated with Paypal

We will need a minimum of 15 buyers with a $200 deposit which will help us get the ball rolling with the cost of R&D and tooling.

This group buy will run a total of three weeks. Once we get deposits from at least 15 buyers, we will begin the tooling process. Tooling for an injection mold takes 2-4 weeks depending on the complexity of the part being produced. After the mold is finished, then production will begin. We can usually pump out 5-7 rear valances per day and will take a 3-5 days to clean them up and package them to ship. If you would like to send payment now, the Paypal address is rideskinz@gmail.com. Please include your address, phone number, email and your MGExperience screen name so I know who the payment came from. If you do not have a Paypal account, we also take VISA, Mastercard and American Express. Please email: tony@rideskinz.com for payment details.
Once the group buy sale is over, we will not offer the Rideskinz LeMans GT polyurethane rear valance at this sale price again. So get your name on that list!

This is not a fancy ad like some of my others, just a simple note to let you know that I'm bringing in a new 3.07:1 ring and pinion from Germany for a pal's converted car. These ring and pinions are made in Germany - they are not the Indian ones available from some of the re-sellers in the UK. They only fit the MGB Salisbury (tube-type) axles so no luck if you have a car with the banjo rear end - but they are made for the MGB carrier so no machining is required. I have until Friday to add to the order if anyone wants another. They're $545 delivered to my door so shipping to you would be the only additional cost and they should fit in a USPS medium flat rate box for about $15 with insurance. Email, call or PM if you're interested. Thanks. Basil 707.762.0974 basiladams@yahoo.com

Kirks Auto continues to cater to the owners of the MGC model cars with some new offerings. Some of what follows will be in stock just before Christmas while others depend on your feedback of interest, or better a commitment when they come to market this Winter, hopefully in January. If you have interest I can email you pictures of most of these offers. My email is below in my signature and of course if you choose PM me but I am unable to email pictures to PMs.

Fans

Kirks has found a stash of NOS plastic 6 bladed fans 13H3635. With the modifications to the front air intake as roundly suggested by Mr Mark Miller, these should work well in most US climates. Cost is $260 Supplies are limited as with any NOS offering.. .

Upholsetery and soft goods

Front floor mats NOS red, limited availability $40 pair. We now offer the best upholstery and proper foams for the 1967-8 and 1969 versions imported from the UK.

OEM two part or single piece bonnet insulation also available for MGB

Our USA made tops are the best we have found made in several grades of vinyl including British Everflex and genuine Haartz vinyl or Stayfast. BEWARE the imitation non Haartz materials Sunfast and some marketed as “Mohair”. Real mohair is a cotton material and hasn’t been available for many years. POA Available for virtually any car including Morgan

Stainless hoses
Kirks is the only supplier to offer Goodyear fuel hoses with stainless over lay. The proper set consists of 3 hoses in the engine bay and 2 at the fuel pump. Kirks can modify the engine set with 2 hoses to accommodate our see through fuel filters. The rear fuel pump hose with banjo fitting can be either stainless with a clamp or UK sourced with crimped end.

We also are offering stainless oil cooler upgrades along with standard OEM rubber.

New for the offering are stainless over braided cooling hoses to the heater and overflow to the catch tank.

We continue to offer the best available hydraulic hoses from the UK for the brakes and clutch. Ours have the correct OEM size wrench fittings.
POA

Stainless lines for oil coolers, fuel, heat lines, and hydraulics available for virtually any car.

Air filter seal

Received word only this week from my manufacturer that these are now available. No cost point as yet. 27H8223

Brake levers

A Kirks exclusive offering! Rear brake adjusters haven’t been available for many years. Almost totally unique to the MGC, Kirks is commissioning them made with stainless rather than spring steel which should make them last for decades to come. I seek input to interest and may offer these with a DIY kit of the actuator along (stainless rather than spring steel) and the necessary rivets. These are slated to be made in the next few weeks and the target price is $75 for the complete pair.

Exhaust Systems
I continue to offer what I feel is the best OEM replacement system made in Stainless Steel. These are manufactured in the UK and are in my opinion superior to what Falcon and others offer for the MGC. $650
New to the offering are systems compatible with the Downton header Kirks has offered for over 15 years. There is growing interest in a compatible mild steel complete exhaust system to couple to the Downton header. This is spurred by the conversion from twin carbs to triple carb set up. What follows are made to the same high standards as the Downton exhaust header and triple intakes for either SU or Weber carbs. At the time of this mailing I am negotiating with a number of vendors on price point and possible upgrades. Thus the prices not highlighted are estimates I believe will be in effect. What I can offer now is the Downton Header $775 and any of three compatible systems:
Single exhaust out of the header includes a Y Siamese pipe to exhaust resonator in front of rear silencer similar to OEM. Cost including the Y is $735

Dual exhaust from the header. Sport version has paired rear silencers only. Cost $660

Dual exhaust from the header quad system similar to OEM with twin resonator and dual mufflers, $740.

Several of these systems are pre ordered with ETA first of the year. I certainly can add to this standard order.

Heat Shield
I am having these made to include the option for insulation as per the A and B series car engines. There will be other options for OEM paintable galvanized steel, polished stainless, standard stainless steel.
Price point for galvanized $58 stainless $75.

Servos
Kirks offers rebuilding services for the OEM Girling units which frankly many times need to be rebuilt again. I feel the best alternative are the PBR replacements which come with the brackets for an easy DIY install. After seeing so many MGCs with Lockheed units, I have bowed to offering them as well. They employee similar dated technology as the NA Girlings and frankly are a pain to install and look a bit alien to me. Cost point is almost the same as the PBRs with the Lockheed kit that is needed to make them work. I too offer the Chinese made Lockheed copies for about half the cost of the Lockheeds.
PBR replacement servos $1300 and include the brackets.

Diaphragm Plate Seals
Kirks is the only place to source correct fitting upper and lower seals to BLOCK airflow from escaping the radiator. This is very important to keep operating temps within their safety zones and frankly I do not not how anyone is making what the others sell work at all. The lower seal is custom designed exclusively for Kirks. $35 both upper and lower seals. To round out sealing, the radiator to shroud seals between the two tanks and the shroud are often overlooked. These are $8.50 each two required.

Other Bits
OEM Hazard switch correct black bezel $40.
Many other suppliers offer only the later, chrome bezel switch that we too can supply $35
The front bump stops have long been missing and I have new units in stock $55 ea
Spin on oil conversions
Mechanical oil pressure adapter kit
Super Pro poly bushings for the front, secondary suspension, rear suspension offered in sets, total car kits, or individual applications points. POA
Tie Rods
Poly tie rod end boots
Poly rear bump stops
Poly ASB (anti sway bar) end link bushings
Uprated Front ASB
Uprated Front torsion bars
Rear ASB
Quck rack steering rack and pinion.
POA

Kirks is the largest stockist of exclusive MGC parts in the world.

New MGA 1500 pistons
I have a few sets of NOS BHB MGA and Metropolitan 1500 .030 pistons. I may have a set of .060
I believe they are the factory type 4 ring pistons with chrome top rings.
They are complete with rings and pins. I've checked each piston set and they all appear to be in perfect condition. I've used them for years in all the rebuilt 1500 engines. All consistent in size are far superior to any of the new replacement pistons supplied now.
The current price with freight on our kits run lower than the MGB 4 cylinder 5 speed kits to boot!

--Click Here for MGB V6 5-speed Conversion kits--

For those of you riding the fence considering running a Supercharger with a 5-Speed kit and rebuilding the original MGB engine, look into the price and power difference of moving up to a V6 conversion. You get more BHP, FAR more torque and a car that is happy in hot weather at slow speeds or fast freeway driving like no standard MG!
$70 each or $125 a pair, plus shipping. New in box.
This is a very nice reproduction, includes a new H4 55/60W bulb with each light assembly. These have a 3-dimensional Lucas badge, not the old flat style that just looks wrong.

Increase Visibility to the inept drivers behind you.

Lets face it, we don't install LEDs because we want the coolest car (even though they are pretty cool)
Nor do we install them because we want to see these while looking in our rear view mirror
But because we need the person behind us to see us any time of day and to give a better advantage to them when we apply our brakes.

Modern vehicles have tail lamps designed on average 20 inches higher than our Classic British cars, to add insult to injury, the tail lamp sizes have gone from a couple of spots above the bumper to 25% of the total space used on the rear end. The final nail in the coffin is the modern LED tail lamps have made stock tail lamps designed for last centuries driving nearly invisible to Joe average who is not used to Classics.

The Most Important item on your car is Good Brakes, the second most important thing is for drivers behind you to know that you are there and even more- Slowing Down! Since tail light technology is required to keep the public from finding our bumpers, LEDs should be as important to anyone who actually puts miles on their classics at Night and Daytime Driving!

A number of our LED systems have had a decent price reduction recently.

If you have not seen the LED systems designed specifically to each tail lamp design, please have a look at one of the best safety improvements you can make on your car for you, your passengers and Joe average driving behind you claiming he did not see your brake lights!

http://bmcautos.com/led

Sets available for MGA 1500, 1600 and soon 1622. Also for early MGB, late MGB, MGC, Midget, MG TD round, MG TD/TF Round, Magnette and many British cars. Available in Positive and Negative Earth.

About the video below: The Black MGB has the BRAKE light lit up but the white car shows our PARKING only in the still picture. If our Brake light was active, you wouldn't even notice the black cars lights!
You can see this by noting the parking lamp on the side of the white car is on while it is off on the black car. Our system draws far less power and is far brighter. Command those behind you with obvious lighting for your British Classic!
(Click on video to watch- the difference is amazing)

McLeod's British Cars: What we do and who we are (15 replies)

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and let The Experience Ring what we do here at McLeod's British Cars.

We have been in business for the last 40 years here in Maumelle, Arkansas. McLeod's started as a hobby when Ronnie McLeod was printing T-shirts for a living out of our warehouse. In the mid 70's Ronnie started by buying and selling (not so old at the time) British Cars. He would buy one, fix it, and turn around and sell it, people that bought these cars would end up later calling him for service. When parts were becoming hard to find Ronnie started buying parts cars and using them to keep these customer cars on the road as well as fixing his own cars. In 1980 when all the dealers were closed there was only one business here in central Arkansas that carried parts. This lone business had a bad reputation for having terribly overpriced parts. Ronnie saw an opportunity and started getting in contact with importers and began carrying commonly needed parts. This enabled him to provide parts at a fair price and better service to the local british car community. From there the business expanded to what it is today with a warehouse that is stocked with almost everything that you could find in a Moss or VB warehouse and some things that very few people have. Over the years Ronnie has bought out other businesses that were closing their doors and which has supplied us with a stock of NOS parts. We also have close to 400 cars here on site that are either for sale or are being parted out.

We have now started an ebay store that can be seen here. http://stores.ebay.com/ClassicBrits?_rdc=1

If you can name it we most likely do it here on site. We also carry things such as rebuilt heads or good used overdrive transmissions.

I know when I read a thread I like seeing pictures so here is a few pictures of what we do.

Here is just a sample of our yard

looking for an unusually satisfying MG service experience? (no replies)

Most folks on the board know of me from my many posts as I try to help MG owners through periods of pain and frustration, but not all of you know that I do in fact operate a small, one man facility devoted exclusively to LBCs, and MGs in particular.

My approach to dealing with MG owners and their car concerns is not the usual one. My methods work well toward keeping the car owner in the position of being in control over progress and costs, and my experience insures that the work is done in the most efficient way possible.

I am off the beaten path by choice, but I have cars brought to me from all over the east coast, and my UPS guy is quite use to bringing in boxes of carburetors and other subsystems for bench repairs.

My specialty is taking in forty year old MGs, working with the owners to determine just what he or she might want and expect out the car, and then rehabilitating it as requested to a completely dependable condition that requires little further maintenance and no excuses.

I can do extremely high level restorations, but I prefer to work toward good looking driver level results.

I usually survey the car thoroughly before submitting a detailed report with cost estimates to the owner in order to work out an appropriate course of action. I believe that consistent communication is the key to a satisfying garage experience and timely emails and telephone calls keep up that contact.

Engine rebuilds, complete electrical diagnosis and service, brake system repairs, transmission overhauls, clutchectomeys, and front suspension servicing, are just some of the things that I do with my forty-plus years of experience.

Customer cars are always kept indoors in my five thousand square foot constantly monitored shop.

Retrieval is available on my personal aluminum trailer, or, for longer distances, I use an extremely reliable, very affordable, one man service that can bring an enclosed or open trailer to your door at your convenience anywhere in the country.

A friend of mine used to manufacture offset cam keys for MGB\MGA\Spridget and other applications. He stopped making them about 5 years ago. Last week he found a stash of them in his trailer and I bought all of them. These offset woodruff keys are the inexpensive way to dial in your cam timing without having to pay me $155 for a vernier cam gear. Our friends at the Mega MG Parts retailer sells these keys for between $27.45 and $30.95 each depending on size. I'm offering sets of 4 offset keys that include a 1 degree, 2 degree, 3 degree, and 4 degree key for $49 a set plus shipping. I also have single keys in 2 degree and 3 degree for $15 each. The keys are reversible so a 4 degree key can be used to advance or retard the timing 4 degrees by simply flipping it over. Quantities are limited. First come, first-served. Thanks.
Fresh batch of PBR servos just in fresh made in and from Austrailia. PBR is the largest OEM and aftermarket supplier of brake parts. They have supplied GM Corvette servos for the past 20 years. These particular servos are designed to replace the Girling units MKIIA and MKIIB used on AH, Sunbeam Tiger, and MGC along with a host of Italian exotics including Maser, Fcar, and Lamborghini all using Girling systems as OEM.

I stock both 6 inch for 4 cyl up to 2L and 8 inch for the 3-5 L cars. They can be remotely mounted anywhere on the car...the first Lambo 350 has it in the boot. It will work with any brake system and requires only a vacuum port from the engine and plumbing from the master to the system. It exceeds both Girling and Lockheed OEM output with about a 30% gain compared to the larger UK brands.

These are state of the art quality in both design, build, and longevity.

While in Reno, we interviewed a number of people and put as many of the MGs on video that we could fit into our busy schedule. Reno was truly a World Class Event so large that there was no way we could get to more than a mere portion but we still have quite a bit!

Our preview of the

ARCHES was released almost before the camera cooled off.

The main videos, having been vaulted until the time we wished to go back with our friends and their cars came sooner than we thought. We want to go back but since winding the clock back is not an option, watching videos is the next best thing. Sometimes entertaining and enlightening too!

Over 1500 pieces
In 2011 we started our 'In a Box' range, this is a range of car specific bolt sets. The 'in a box' range are designed to get you at least 90% of the way through your full nut and bolt restoration. These sets have been put together from data sheets, original manuals and countless hours building these cars up from the ground in our own body shops. We are dedicated to offering only the very best parts made from the very best materials, these sets are a combination of High Tensile Steel (Grades 'S', 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9) and Stainless Steel. Our fasteners are certified to carry the strength requirements needed for suspension / brake systems and offer peace of mind on structural panels and seat belt anchoring points.

Our MGB [in a box] set is made up of over 1500 pieces and includes:

Set-Screws
Bolts
Nyloc Nuts
Nuts
Flat Washers
Spring Washers
PLEASE NOTE: For this application 'UNF Domed Philip head screws' have been replaced with 'UNF Domed Allen head screws'

Areas 'In a Box' covers:

Body Bolts
Engine Bay Fasteners
Drive Train (Engine, Gearbox, Axle)
Brake System
Suspension
Interior

Helpful Advise:
We do not supply stretch bolts or head bolts at this point.
It is good practice to bag up the old fasteners used for key points of the vehicle and mark the bag I.e Front suspension, etc as this is a time saver when reassembling.
Certain fasteners have been upgraded for a more practical (or stronger) replacement.
It is a very good idea to keep a supply of self taping screws and grommets in the workshop!

Should you have any special requirements for your 'In a Box' such as upgrades to your vehicle requiring special fasteners, please contact A-Series Spares and we will work with the information you give us to supply you with the most comprehensive set we can.

Has anybody encountered a coman by the above name in relation to MG parts?
Mainly for the non shipment of paid for goods. I had dealings with this prick a couple of years ago and succeeded in finally getting the MG Magnette clock from with some threatenin via PayPal.
I have just received an email attached from a lady here in Oz that was having trouble with him about the same time (around 5 years ago) .
As you can see she is still waiting for her stuff.

Hi Andrew & Pippa

It is some time since I wrote to you about A.D. and thought I would catch you up on what has happened.

I truly thought that I had this tiger by the tail when he wrote to tell me that his friend, Duncan, would be coming to Australia (albeit Perth) and would post the parts to me from there.

Oh! Dear! I am so gullible!!!! Ofcourse Duncan was delayed and wouldn't be coming until 9th Jan. I then wrote and suggested he should send me Duncans name and address so my friends could chase it up. Andrew replied that he has been in hospital receiving treatment for cancer. I feel so guilty....I usually take at face value what people tell me, until I have reason not to. Is it unfair of me to suspect the cancer story of being false? If it isn't I am going to feel so very bad. Anyway, last email (today) I have told him that I do not want to waste my time in the UK chasing parts that should have been sent to me almost 5 years ago.

Yep! Gullible, dumb, and so many other adjectives do definitely describe me.........and yes, I am blonde.

Have a good laugh, and a very happy new year.

Cheers
Pat Ward

Emissions decals / stickers (no replies)

Ages ago I decided that our B needed a fresh coat of paint. During the process, I figured I should remove and replace the original 1974 emissions decal. It was old, hard to read, had some over spray from a PO paint job, and would just look bad next to fresh new paint. So I went to the "usual suspects" to source a new decal. To my surprise, nobody sold them. So I continued my search on the internet, and sure enough, I found one, so I bought it.

At first glance this reproduction decal (which weirdly came with a postmark from Peru) looked OK. But when I removed the original decal, and looked at it side-by-side with the repro, I was shocked at how BAD it was! For starters, the picture of the carburetors was wrong (HS's not HIF's)! So then I started to REALLY look at it, and I came up with a list of over 10 serious faults with it (I didn't count the minor ones).

It became clear to me, that if I wanted it done right...

So was born, Eastwood Period Accessories, the one and only home for highest-quality 1973, and 1974 MG-B emissions decals.

Here's what my original decal looked like:

And here's the new decal:

To purchase, or read even more about the creation of these decals, simply click on www.Eastwood-Decals.com.

Thanks!
Trying to generate some interest in a POLYURETHANE valance and splitter. So no more cracking when/if you hit a curb and no crazy fitment issues that you would have with fiberglass.
I have 123 Ignitions for most British and Classic Autos. And units for Healey's to Mercedes and Volvo.

What is a 123 Ignition?
First and foremost the 123Ignition delivers consistent timing every time.
Additionally in a 123ignition, all moving parts – like the original points, the centrifugal weights, the springs, the bearings and the vacuum-diaphragm – have been replaced with just one moving part: the central shaft with the rotor.
The internal electronics provide the right advance and the optimum dwell-angle throughout the rev. range to maintain peak energy and peak performance.
There is no wear altering the timing of the 123ignition: Once set, you’ll never have to worry about it again!
SPARK BALANCING
Spark Balancing is an advanced technology normally used in Formula 1, where engine speeds are tremendously
high. This technique is built into the 123ignition. Its microprocessor constantly monitors the amount of energy contributed by each individual cylinder.
Assume for example that the compression of one cylinder differs from the others. The motion of the flywheel would be less smooth, and so is the motion of the camshaft. The 123ignition detects this, and adjusts the timing of each cylinder individually. This results in
a much quieter engine, more power and less wear.
AUTOMATIC DWELL CONTROL
A mechanical distributor has a fixed dwell-angle, sometimes resulting in overheated coils at low speeds, weaker sparks and misfiring at high speeds. Why? An ignition coil only needs a couple of milliseconds to charge, but with a fixed dwell-angle these are ”overcharged” many times when idling, resulting in…overheated coils! At high speeds the fixed dwell angle tends to leave too little time to fully charge the coil, resulting in… weaker sparks and misfiring!
The 123ignition measures the amount of current flowing into the coil, in such a way that the strongest possible spark is guaranteed at all engine-speeds, while keeping the coil cool.
Also to prevent coil overheating, the power to the coil is cut-off as soon as the engine stops.

Acme Engine rebuilding Kits

Here at Acme Speed Shop, my main job is rebuilding MG engines, so I wanted to help DIYers with the entire process of engine rebuilding and started offering Acme engine rebuild kits, 4 years ago now. I can help many customers pick engine rebuild parts customized to their wants and desires, but it's way more than just a parts sale, it's as much a service than it is just a parts sale. I suggest you call me before the disassembly of the engine, so I can tell you how to check a few things during that stage, that will help you later, then helping instruct you on how to interface with the machine shop, as you determine what bores sizes and crank bearing sizes will be used, then we can order the parts. I can interface with machine shop if needed, I'm also available to you thru the entire assembly process, even make myself available to you during the weekend if you need me. I source the parts from well known and respected vendors at the same prices and shipping you would pay. What I found is there is no such thing as one stop shopping, I often use as many as 4-5 vendors thru the process. As I rebuild these engines every day, I know what works and what does not, and my advice is based on everyday experiences in my own shop rebuilding these engines, which is my everyday, full time job, I've built well over 100 MG engines.

So in a nutshell, I help you thru the disassembly stage, thru the machine shop stage, we order parts based on what has worked well for me and my professional rebuilds, and I help you thru the assembly stage, you pay competitive prices from well known vendors, and you get me, a experienced professional MG engine builder to help you thru the entire process and you don't pay one dime more for that. Many of you may only think of me as high end provider, and thats exactly what I build here at my shop, but I do offer more cost effective solutions for people on a tight budget, thru my actual engine rebuilding experience, I can offer choices that may cost less, but not sacrafice quality, now true enough, if a part is simply a part to you, and cost is your only concern, and doing this right is not priority, then maybe I not the guy you want to use, but if this project is important to you to get right and achieve success, then I'm exactly your guy.

I also often times get involved in the prep of certain engine components to go along with these engine rebuild kits, from rebuilding your SU carbs, cylinder heads (rebuilding and/or port and polishing), crankshaft, connecting rods (resisizing, balancing, polishing/lightening) and so on, so I can assist you in component rebuilding on most jobs.

The engine rebuild kits can be anything from stock, to mild to wild street performacne, to a even a full out race engine. From the the tight budget, to the all-out approach, I've done it all, and can help you with your project

This has became a popular service, I'm doing several of these engine rebuild kits each month now, and love helping you all thru this process, building engines and enjoying doing that sort of work is what drove me to do this for living and start Acme Speed Shop over a 14 years ago, so sharing years of experineces with you brings as much joy to me as it does to you. Anyone interested, call or email me, and I can offer references if needed.

You'll always find my pricing to be very competitive, and the advice, and technical support that comes with the sale to be from real life experience.

I've included pictures of Acme's work. I would like to thank you all in your continued support of Acme Speed Shop. This has always been more of a passion, than just a job, so helping you all enjoy this like I do, is my goal.

Thanks again
