Heritage Certificates

A month or so ago i posted pictures of my oil cooler on the BBS site.Iwas led to believe it was a competition cooler.

Today i went to pick up my chassis from Bob West. I showed him the cooler. He said it was very rare and he believes there were only 12 of that type made, think he said he has 5 of them.

He then quizzed me on my car but i couldn't even remember the reg no. And i don't think he was that impressed when i said it was White.(Hey i never said i was bright):)

The bottom line is he urged me to get a Heritage Certificate and find out about the car before i go any further with the restoration.

I have looked on the Heritage site but im not very good at this sort of thing. So which Certificate do i go for?

1/Chassis No

2/ I dont have Engine No so thats out

3/ Body No

4/ Premier Certificate

Any advice on which one would be the best

Thanks Pete

Pete, you just need the heritage certificate (unless you want to supply a photo and have that on the certificate)

http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/store/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=29782

You just fill in the model (e.g. MGA 1500 Coupe), make (MG 1953-80), the chassis number, your name and the registration number.

The other thing you can do is the DVLA data check. It's a bit hit and miss on older cars because not all places were able to pass on the data. But you may get the full history (i.e. every owner) from new. You need to complete a V888 form and the cost is £5.00
