Currently trying to fix the lock on the driver's side (left) - since it's the first model MG made there's a lack of parts. Annoying. I've also deassembled the carburettors since there's a problem with the petrol supply. It's going to be expensive.

Getting Ready For Spring

Aah, finally it all seems to come together. Spent the last two days installing my recently restored rev counter/tachometer, putting the hood back on the car (a friend of my dad's fixed a couple of seams) and changing oil (messy job, to say the least). Since there was a lot of components missing from the filter bowl and a little I had to postpone the finishing touches from Sunday to today. But now, finally, the car is ready for the coming of spring. Nice, very nice..

Quarter Light Once Again

The new quarter light is better than the old one, but it's still not tight against the windscreen pillar. Today I tried to move the windscreen a bit further back on the driver's side - it made things a little better but you can still see inside the cockpit through the space between the quarter light and the rubber seal. Very irritating, I might add. After trying everything else, I now suspect that the problem is in the door hinges.

While I was working with the clutch one of the quarterlights, on the driver's side, began to irritate me. It's not stalling properly against the windscreen pillar and thereby letting in rain. I decided to take it off and check what was wrong. When I started working with it the whole thing began falling into pieces, the bolts were all rusty and the rubber seals far too old. Now I've bought the quarterlight frame complete from my local garage. It's no longer made, from what I've heard, but they ha...
