The GT has come a long way since I bought it in 06'. It is now a daily driver, even in the winter. Soon I hope to start on the rust repair. That will keep me busy for quite some time.

On The Road

Well I have been driving the GT for a little bit now and I love it! The handling is pretty good but I still need to go through the rear suspension and get some better wheels. One of the Rostyles is bent and I have to keep it on the back for now. One thing that I still want to do to the front end is put on a 3/4" sway bar, I prefer a little less body roll. The new head works well even though I did not clean up the intake ports. I guess I'll do that when the motor needs rebuilding.

The Front End

I recently met another board member and he also needs to do the front of his 72. We started on my car as his was in the body shop due to a cell phone weilding SUV driver that couldn't see him in front of her. Anyway, on my front end all of the rubber needs to be replaced of course along with the lower trunnion bushings. I was able to borrow a 20 ton press from a freind to do the lower bushings and the sway bar bushings. I also borrowed a .750"...

The First Big Job

The first big job on my 72 GT was installing a new aluminum head. The PO said he had repaired a blown head gasket but he missed two cracks in the head. The old head had been surfaced so maybe the machine shop missed the cracks. Anyway I got a good price on a new head from Steve at NW Imports and I am happy with it.
