I purchased my MG in 2009 from a dealer in Santa Monica California. I am the third owner. The vehicle was originally purchased by the first owner in March 1976 from a dealer in La Habra California. The second owner purchased the car in May 2003.
The MG is a 50th Anniversary Edition with a commemorative emblem on the dash. The car has been given a ground up restoration including a repaint in the original Harvest Gold color. The engine has also been rebuilt with a larger camshaft and conversion to dual SU carbs from a 1969 donor MG. All smog equipment has been removed & replaced with a stainless steel Falcon exhaust system.
I am a member of the local MG club, Emerald Necklace MG Register in Cleveland Ohio. I also belong to the national NAMGBR and American MGB Association.

I worked on the MG this afternoon and discovered the cause of the pesky oil leak. I found the oil was coming from the rear portion of the oil pan near the four back bolts. I tightened them up and will have to keep any eye on the mat on the garage floor.

The MG has been running great for the last 2 and half months since my restoration has been completed. There are a few small projects I plan to do over the next few months including adjusting the rear brake drums and trying to fix a pesky oil leak from the rear portion of the oil pan.

I ended up tackling an alternator problem that occurred out of nowhere on my MG. I was taking the car for a short drive and the alternator began to make a loud metal scraping sound. I reused my original alternator when doing my restoration since it was functioning properly. Upon inspection it was discovered the pulley bolt on the front of the alternator loosened up and the gap caused the alternator fan to be unbalanced and was scraping against the housing as the alternator spun. Took my MG to its first car show since the restoration was completed last month. The show was the 36th Annual British Cars Day sponsored by the Northeast Ohio Austin Healey Club. The weather turned out to be perfect with clear skies and temperatures in the low 70s. There was an excellent turn out of all British makes, even a cool Bond Bug and Mini Moke. I was so happy my 1976 won 1st Place in the Rubber Bumper class. I got to catch up with allot of old friends and made some new ones too.
