Owned and totaled a '70 B back in my youth. Sold out of parts/projects a few years back. Picked up a '76 "Garage Find" that had been sitting since around 1994 a couple of years ago. Got it running the first year. Did a rebuild of sorts on the engine and converted from ZS to HS4s last year. Just want to mostly drive it this year...oh yeah, did I mention those Datsun Snowflake wheels?

Driver's Side Floor Pan Out...

Inner Sill area

I haven't given up yet. The Inner and Outer sills are pretty much gone except for the tops. The inner membrane and castle rail were virtually nonexistent. I finally have the floor pan out and can see that there will be more patching and replacing. The center crossmember has been cut away and the outer end is goner too. I have to assume everything I am finding on the driver's side will be mirrored on the passenger side. Looks like it will be a full replacement for the crossmember, though I'm...

gt drivers floor pan rear 2

No real surprises...lots of rust. Finally got some time to look at things a little closer. The driver's side (and I suspect the passenger side too) floor is shot. "Repairs" were made at some time...sheet metal riveted, screwed and caulked down over the inner sill. It's looking like the inner membrane is nonexistent, along with a good deal of the castle rail. The outer sill was covered with a patch panel or something--appears to be steel and somewhat solid from the outside, but that just hid...

Pedal box area

Pulled the pedal box assembly out this afternoon. And vacuumed the leaves out of the inner fender. Not sure what had been stuffing those in there or how long ago. No live varmints found yet...unless they escaped last night and took up residence in the attic or something.
