This is a ROUGH DRAFT!!! Bear with me as I try to make this tutorial easier to understand!

Ok, I would like to start this journal entry by saying this: The easiest way to post multiple images on the MG Experience is to become a member. Gold Members can attach up to 7 pictures per post without having to use an external site like Picasa. In addition, just think of all of the money you save because of the information you can look up and access on this site. Skye does an excellent job running this site and it is an invaluable resource, so please support the site by becoming a member.

Having said that, there are a number of reasons to use a site like Picasa Web Albums to post pictures in your posts.

• You can post pictures anywhere in your post, not just at the bottom.
• The pictures are stored elsewhere, so they put less of a strain on the MG Experience server.
• You can post larger photos that are easier to see.[/list] To do this, you have to do three things:
  • Get the photos from your camera to your computer.
  • Upload the photos to Picasa Web Albums
  • Add a link in your post to the picture.[/list] Get the photos from your camera to your computer There are a number of ways to do this, and it would be very difficult for me to cover them all. Many cameras come with software to do this, but that software often leaves a lot to be desired. So, my suggestion is that Windows users should Download & Install Picasa and Mac Users should use the excellent built-in iPhoto and download Picasa Web Albums Uploader, which makes it easy to upload photos from within iPhoto. Upload the photos to Picasa Web Albums OK, the main reason to download and install Picasa or Picasa Web Albums uploader is to make this step easier. If you do not have a Google account, create one here
    • For Mac Users
      • In iPhoto, select the photos you want to share with others. You can select an entire album, an entire roll, or individual photos. To select individual photos, hold down the command key (Next to the space bar) and click on each file you want to upload. You will see that each photo you click on now has a blue ring around it to indicate that it is selected. If you accidentally include a photo that you don't want to upload, click it again.
      • From the "File" menu at the top of the screen, choose "Export".
      • Click on "Picasa Web Albums", fill in your Google account information, and then "OK". iPhoto will upload the files.[/list]
      • For Windows Users
        • In Picasa, select the photos that you want to share with others. You can select entire albums, or individual photos. To select individual photos, hold down the ctrl key (bottom left of the keyboard) and click the individual photos. If you accidentally select a photo that you do not want to upload, click it again.
        • Export the photos to Picasa Web Albums.
      • Go to Picasa Web Albums, log in, and verify that your photos are there.[/list] So, you've got photos uploaded to Picasa, now you need to include them in your post. This is somewhat confusing, but quite simple.
        • View the photo you want to include in your post on PicasaWeb.
        • Click the "Link to this photo" link on the right hand side.
        • Select a size (Medium or large work best) and check the "Image Only (no link)" box. It will look like this:
        • Select the URL in the box below "embed image"
        • Copy the text by choosing "Copy" from the "Edit" menu (at the top of the Internet explorer window).
        • Create a post on the Forum, and where you want the photo to show up, click the "Insert Photo" button in the toolbar. The button looks like this:
        • A dialog box will pop up asking you to enter the URL for the picture. Choose "Paste" from the "Edit" menu and click OK. The URL from the PicasaWeb page will show up in text editing area.[/list] That's it! The "Insert Photo" button only puts the word "img" in square brackets before the URL and "/img" after it (also in brackets). It looks like this before you submit it:

The seller sent pictures, so I thought I would post them here. It's a rough car, but it's actually a pretty dry body shell by Northeastern standards!!!

I love these little cars for some reason, so even though it's a wreck, I'd love to try to combine it with an old rotted Austin America that is sitting at a junkyard up here in NH.

I know better, though, or at least I hope I do.

Hi all,

I passed this car in Newport, NH on the way home today. It's one of the few RBBs that I have ever seen and liked the looks of (sorry, guys....).

I don't know anything about the seller, the car, or anything else, and I forgot to get a pic of the Engine bay (The block is red and the head is yellow, so it was out of the car at some point). However, it does look to have overdrive, and my overall impression was of a solid car that needs some minor sorting. The car has some random set of seats mounted, but not on rails, so there's no adjustment. The seller has a nice set of MGB seats, though. He also says he has the rails for the seats, along with a new top on order (old one has a rip in the window).

The seller is asking $7500, but I'm sure he's willing to accept a more realistic number if someone makes an offer.

I have been on a quest to find a way to get my MGC back to MGC bits without reverting to splined wheels (for both cost and weight reasons: the splined Superlites are heavy, and expensive. Plus, I might have a line on some new wheels at a good price....). During my searching and stumbling, I have stumbled a couple of times across Greg's (mber/twentyover]twentyover) explanation of how he converted a set of splined hubs to bolt-on duty (see here towards the end of the thread). [/me]

Anyhow, I got in touch with Greg and he sent me some pictures, and I thought I would post them here for posterity.

It looks like a good solution. Though the rears aren't pictured, a similar solution might work well in the rear, provided you have the narrower wire-wheel axle.

Well, after much procrastination (and other projects and diversions), I finally got the gaskets under the wiper arm surrounds replaced. Most people suggested that I just Dremel off the nuts, but I was convinced that a little heat would do the trick. Suffice it so say that it did not.

So, I whipped out the Dremel, attached a cutting wheel, and cut diagonally across the nut, being careful not to cut into the threads of the wiper arm or into the Chrome surround. Twisting a flat-tip screwdriver inserted into the new slot broke the nut apart, and some careful tapping allowed me to remove the nut.

Holy Crap! What a huge amount of crud had built up over the years! Gotta love that dissimilar metal corrosion. The original gaskets/pads on the car were completely toast, but the new ones fit perfectly. After a quick three-step polish of the surrounding paint and some metal polish on the chrome, It all went back together beautifully.

Of course, when I went to do the same on my MGC GT, I found that someone had used the chrome surrounds for a tourer on the GT, which makes it so they do NOT fit, AND they foul the paint. One more item for a Moss order, I suppose.
