The car was my nice day driver, until I moved to Ohio from Pittsburgh after getting married. It never "broke down" to keep it from going, just eneded up stuck in Pittsburgh for a few years. First place was an appartment. No place to keep the car. Second place, our first house, one lane driveway, one care garage, no place to put the car. Third place, second house, decent shed in back yard with access, car moved to Ohio into shed, but now it was three years, so I trailered it. Bam! kids! no time for the car. Fourth place, our current home with a garage space just for the MG! now it was 11 more years, but more kids, less time. Over the years there were starts and stops but no big "push", well this winter I got a bug and got it on the road. Rebuilt brakes first, you know "Safety Fast!"

Changed the status of my car from "Restoring" to "Running". Would love to have the time to post a whole journal about my car, I will some day. I got the car running on the road yesterday. The car was bought new by my dad on June 14th 1970. It's been mine since 1980. My parents gave it to me for High School graduation. Well moving to a new state, marriage, and well life put the car on the back burner. Well 2 feet of snow this winter left me looking for projects. The MG finally won! Yesterday she drove on the road. Almost tears in my eyes, (a lot of dirt blowing around getting stuck in my teeth too!) My only real concern is it is "squirrely" on shifting/accelerating. By the way my dad is happily working in Arizona these days. I always tease him that I plan to retire before him! I called him to tell him of the resurrection!
