Front Suspension Restoration

Spent a good few weeks dissembling and restoring the front suspension.

Replaced all bushes with poly types and new rotors.

The left hand front A Arm turned out to be a R/H Arm so replaced it with a second hand one sourced from Motorhead .

Took a lot longer than anticipated because of the amount of cleaning a respraying needed.

Still haven't got rid of "bachelors lean", R/H side is 1/2" higher than the L/H side ?

Steering now a little lighter and less roll in the corners

Tourist Trophy Exhaust

Recently fitted a Moss Motors Tourist Trophy Exhaust with header.

Came across what appears to be a common problem, the header flange is thinner than my intake manifold flange. Moss explained that they produce a generic size header and expects the standard 1 1/4" washer to be replaced with a fabricated step washer .

I therefore created the step washer you see in the picture which works perfectly. Only wish Moss could provide some warning that there could be a mismatch in flange thickness and suggest a solution.

We drove through the cold and the rain out to Middleburg, VA to enter this years Hunt Country Classic. The weather was a lot like the UK which suited all the British cars on display.

Mark, I didn't realize "Meg" had a name! Now I am putting it together having read your earlier posts...that is my ("nameless" '64 next to Meg. It was a bit soggy, but still fun. Carol and I I hope to see you and Karen around McLean. Joe Dowley

Good to meet you Joe and Carol. I am sure we will meet up around Mclean or at Katies Coffe Shop on Saturday mornings.
