Another Summer Coming

Lets see... May 1st and a high of 96F. Oh what fun this summer will be!

I have some plans to tidy up the engine bay with a few new parts here a there and some fresh paint on the engine and bay. We'll see what happens, since my dad isn't too keen on me pulling the engine out and having MY car in HIS garage for more time than it takes to do an oil change.

The Hayden electric fan does a decent job when it's not more than 90F outside. After that it seems to run a little hot. So the radiator is going in for a service and I bought a new Zirgo e-fan for half the price of the Hayden. The Zirgo should pull twice as much air and keep the car cool even if I wanted to drive through death valley.

Well, I'll have some pictures up IF I get to really clean up the engine bay. School is done in a week and I'll a little time to do it before I have to get a FUN summer job! INDOORS!

Cooling Down In Vegas

Rosita made her first summer in Las Vegas pretty well. She probably held up better than I did for our 83 consecutive days of 100+ temperature. I put in an extra electric fan as I said before and tinted the windows. Both made it possible for a mildly miserable hot summer. The crappy rubber bushings I put in last November were falling apart, literally, so I replaced the front with Polys from Energy Suspension and have worked amazing so far! MUCH BETTER! The high temp for tomorrow is only 85 and suppose to be in the 70's by the end of this week. WOOHOO!
I took a few pictures in an empty parking garage tonight and some of them came out pretty cool.

A stiking Beee...Rusty I was taken a-back by the beauty of your car...It challenged all I thought about MGB's...under most circumstances I am not a fan of GT's, I don't really care for later cars and I really don't like yellow..BUT...I was instantly drawn to the striking beauty of of your car.I don't know why..a stunning example of the marque..Well done and great pictures.

The work I've had to do at this point!

-New Tires
-Fixed LH door lock (wouldn't latch all the way to lock)
-New Battery
-Rebuilt Alternator- After I fried it putting a new battery in! UGH!
-All new rear bushings
-Valve job, cleaned carbs, fixed blinkers, changed tranny and rear-end fluid. (by mechanic...what a nightmare, only took a month!!! with battle scars on my baby!)
-New front turn lenses, that the mechanic broke and paid for!
-Replaced the temp. sending unit that the mechanic broke!
-All new bushings in the front
-Lowering springs in the front
-Fixed bad connection to RH headlamp
-New heater valve coming soon!
-New LH window coming soon!
-Needs a new throttle cable or the one now needs to be tightened
not sure about that yet.
-Needs all new rubber everywhere around the doors and latch windows and wing windows

So far its been a great daily driver we'll see what happens when the Vegas summer comes...Ill be looking into a electric fan soon and tinting the windows...DARK!

Oh Yah! Took some cool pics at Red Rock just west of Las Vegas near my house...here's one of them

Until next time...
