MG MGB and MGB GT Tech Talk
I am in need for some diagrams or schematics or cross sections or parts pictures of the 175 CD-2....the one without the fitting and seal on the float bowl. Email em to me at livecopter3@yahoo.com. I have a few books and manuals but none of them are as specific as I would like. The carb is on a 1979 MGB.

that is a logical idea..I have not called them but they do not portray that model in their cat. thanks for the idea
Is there something in particular you're looking for an answer on, or are you just looking for the detailed tech diagrams? I can probably answer any question, but I'm not sure I have any good diagrams. I'll look later when I get home.

As far as I know the MGB always had the ZS with a float bowl plug, but I could be wrong.
Have you tried any Triumph sites? TRs used many variations of the 175CD-2.
If you need a replacement stock carb I've got a spare one. You just have to supply the heat mass for the auto choke.
the carb is an aftermarket carb that someone before me installed. I have read that this carb was used on some '79 and 80' MGBs. Judging from the lack of information regarding this carb...I am beginning to think it may not be a good idea to keep it on. Your spare worked well and how much? Is talking about trading and money ok on the forum?
Tom, I only have the MGB catalog on pdf, but since the CD2 was used on a lot of Triumph's, I bet if you downloaded Moss' Triumph catalog, you'd get what you need.

I have a ZS 175 CD carb without the plug on the float bowl on my 79 B. Also in the process of cleaning it and readjusting.
