Hi everyone, I know someone out there can help with this one. I have just finished re-installing the windscreen on my 77 Roadster after taking off the wings/fenders to repair them. In order to get to some of the bolts I had to move stuff out of the way and \I think I may have disturbed something because my two speed wipers will only work on fast and the wipers do not automatically go to the rest position when turned off. If anyone has any idea what this could be and how to fix it, could you please explain it to me in laymans terms as I have never dealt with wipers or their motors before.
Thanks.

Lavo

Check the connector on the motor and at the switch, has to be something simple like that.

Ernie, you were spot on, one of the wires had come off the wiper arm switch, unfortunately I had to remove the assembly to do this and when I did, the two parts of the wiper arm came apart and a two pronged spring flew out. I have no idea how to put this back together. Has anyone got any instructions for this procedure?

Dave,

Find the Tech Library and go to "Servicing the Lucas Wiper Switch", where you will find a comprehensive instruction and pics of the switch internals and follow that.

Ernie,
Have I got this one right, or am I back in the garden?

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by 'wiper arm switch' and 'wiper arm came apart' ?

You'll have to be a little clearer, or better still post a photo.

Do you mean the park switch here ?

I think I'm getting you all confused with my rubbish description, the part I am having problems with is the actual wiper stalk, I've attached a photo now. I know how everything goes back except for the safety pin looking spring. If anyone can show me how this goes I'll be eternally grateful. Maggies been off the road now for three months and I'm dying to get back out. Cheers

Graham, that article is for the earlier switches, up to around '76. The later one are different. Maybe an article or photo reference about those should be done.
