OK I can't seem to find why I have two threaded holes that are visible when I put the top down on each end of the slide bar that holds the top on????

Is this what your referring to?

If so...it's for the retaining bolts for the hardtop.

Ah...I thought he was referring to the tonneau bar retainers.

Even though the car may have the retractable seat belts, the holes on the deck remained through several years of production. I believe they were used for the home market cars longer than the NA spec cars.

On my cousin's '69 MGC, the threaded holes are the shoulder belt anchor points. These were used before the auto industry standardized the retractable inertia reel shoulder belts. My '73 B has the retractors, but still has the threaded holes.
