I am satisfied with one I purchased from Brian at BMC. It worked well and gave me the clearance that I needed.

Even though the ujoints are different the spline size is the same.

BMC or Speedway Motors Part it will fit wilwood steering rack, Jaguar and MGB --3/4 48 to 3/4 48 spline. The part # should be in the instructions.

Install the "U" joint and mark the set screw location (transfer punch) on the shaft and column, drill just enough (1/8" deep) for the set screw to seat, couple of blue Locktite, tighten the set screws, tighten the jam nut and recheck after a few miles.
Do not put any Locktite on the Jam nut. Jam nut is a Nylock nut.

Count half of the splines x 2

Forgot to mention, you can also use a RB "U" joint they are smaller. Just make sure that is in good condition if using a used one.

Kind of confused, Bill mentions that you can use a RB yoke. I picked up a Moss 263-095 with a Moss order, it is a way too short. I have never seen a rb yoke before , does this yoke look correct.
So is the information that you can use a RB yoke wrong, or am I missing something.
John

If you use the late U-joint you have to lengthen the rack's pinion shaft, which puts the U-joint up into the firewall cone, mostly out of the way.

Or use the rubber bumper rack with longer pinion. It has a slightly slower ratio also for easier steering. Chrome bumper rack has quicker ratio.

You could also use a vibration damper U joint combo to make up the difference in length. You would have to modify the pinion shaft to DD.
