HI Guys: I removed the rear bumper today and was wondering if it can be sanded as it has a lot of wrinkles here and there on it.How do you refinish them???Thanks,Old Bill

With wrinkles, you may not have much luck ending up with a nice looking bumper.

There are used bumpers from cars that have been garaged:

That is a good write up, but where do you get those products?

there is stuff called rubber bumper paint.

ask at a real parts store (like NAPA) not the chains that hire people that don't know a transmission mount from a steering arm.

Or look at Wal-mart. They have it as well, for pretty cheap. (that's what I would do)

I have wet sanded mine with 2000 sandpaper to remove the garbage and then treated the rubber with "Back to black" which is available in most auto parts stores. Now it looks like new.

I have done 2 sets using Tom's http://www.mgexp.com/article/rb-repair.html maybe not like new, but almost...and some had some pretty bad dings & tearers. Look at the 2 LE's on my profile. Easily added $500+ to asking price when sold. I couldn't get the "waves" out of the one, no mater how hard I tried,
