I have corbeau forza fixed racing seats in my mgb gt. The seats fit but are slightly too close to the steering wheel and pedals making it slightly uncomfortable to sit in ( is a project so isn't running yet) the issue is the seats is far back as possible but due to the transmission tunnel I cannot take them back any further, are there any ways I can modify the tunnel In order to get the seats to sit further back
Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you

Locate different seats. Miata, fiero, recaro etc. You could section the trans tunnel and narrow it at the base but you run into issues with transmission clearance.Lots more work to narrow the tunnel, cheaper to get new seats with rails so they adjust

How much clearance do you need? I shudder to say it, but could you knock the tunnel in a little bit with a hammer?
I would agree with previous comment, Mazda MX-5 seats are always a nice addition. You would struggle to find a set of Fiero seats in the UK!

Not much really I'm not looking to try and cut a nd shut the tunnel the driver seat is the only I need to move really, I'd say about 6--8 inches further back, and judging by the "taper" of the tunnel there shouldn't be that much of a chnage
The seats a a bit of a must as I've stripped the back out and fitted a roll bar

1. Adjust the side of the seat, if that's possible
2. Use seats that do fit like Miata seats or others.
3. Start banging away at the trans tunnel.
I'd be very reluctant to even attempt #3, myself, as I hate to ruin a good car. How much side room do you need? If it's just an inch, can't you alter the seat just a little? If more is needed, I'd do #2 for sure.

So I have Paddy Hopkirk recliners and they sit on 2"square tubing. Any lower and they hit the tunnel as I push back. In other words how about lifting your Corbeaus (or does your head already hit the roof)? Look at the oem seats and compare your bum height. A word of warning: where I live it is illegal to change a seat's mounting points on the floor so you might want to check with MoT
