...if not move to where there is one....an eclectic random list of stuff I have needed and found there, for instance I have a big box of peanuts nowadays never enough salt on them, so two trips to grocery stores for popcorn salt, young stock clerks say "what" then guides me to flavored salts but no popcorn salt, never heard of it.....go to menards for deck screws and go to the off brand candy and chip aisle, eureka they have real popcorn salt..... also have a pound of real chocolate covered almonds for 5.99, beat that walmart!!!, or go to menards and buy blue jeans on sale for 14.99 yup they carry work clothes, or buy a 1.95 GALLON of ERA laundry soap for $6.95 on sale AND get it when they have the whole store 11percent discount for even more off...or need some filler paint to cover up raw wood....mismatched top quality paint 5 bucks a gallon...or close out on #2 T&G pine bead board, nice stuff 10.99 for a 6/8 pack can't remember..on and on and on....sure it's a big box store but it beats Home despot or Lowes hands down plus they have an excellent lawn and garden and concrete section and a terrific lumber yard, I even got my wife a Valentines day card there in a dead end aisle section that was funny as H*ll...."Love is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it but only you can feel it's warmth"...ain't that special....
btw, forgot to show my ceiling done just before Thanksgiving,my ceiling done with those bargains....gettin to old fer this stuff tho..

I think Jack will be upset that you didn't leave the card on the shelf for him to buy.

I purchase more from Menards than I do from Lowes or Home Depot.
Of course, had Walmart not put my local hardware store(s) out of business, I would shop even more locally for the great customer service that I received.

I love that place - have one 10 minutes from my house. They always seem to have what I am looking for - especially oddball stuff that I can't seem to find anywhere.
Like Rick, I now shop and buy more from them than Lowes or Home Depot.

1976 MGB - pretty much stock but with a few sundry deviations

I heard from JC that you could get shingles at Menards. No thanks!
BTW, you did some nice Mikey Angelo work on that ceiling.
I used to live in Upper Wainscot, but the Welsh started moving back to the area and we left......in a hurry.

Good waste of the boat prop on the ceiling No Maynard G Krebbs around here. Cousin worked for one for a spell in Rapid City SD. I stopped in there for a short visit with him on my way through there a few years back.

He even owns an MG. I asked him before I left what was east of Rapid City...said he didn't know as he had lived there about 10 years and had never went east. I told him later not to bother...unless he wanted to go to the corn festival in BFE...and if he did he better book a room early. I pulled into the corn festival town around twilight and tried to get a room... not gonna happen she said...every room in town booked for the gig event...asked if she could try and get me one 100 miles farther up the road in Sioux City...she said the don't have any there...for the same reason. I was resigned that I was gonna be spending the night in the TF...not good. Went to a nice eatery for dinner and talked a bit with the matre'd he suggested I call the filling station/ feed mill stop 50 miles back from the direction I had come into town. Sure enough they got a room... made a reservation... didn't need a card?? wondered why until I got there. There's a reason it was no longer a Best Western but me and the couple getting the last room were happy to have what we got. That aint the hotel in the picture...It's a higher end upscale unit I got gas at much earlier in the day. Didn't take the museum tour.

None out here, but I know my Dad in Minneapolis used to do his share of shopping there.
We have a somewhat smaller family owned hardware-and-more store out called McLendon's. Seems like they have six stores in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area.
