Hello,

I have a 1979 midget and a question. It originally had a Lucas opus distributor. The distributor has a 3 wire plug. My new distributor only has 2 wires. One wire goes to the negative on the coil, and the other wire goes to the 12 volt side of the ballast wire. Any idea which wires are which? Or should I not use the old harness at all? How could I find the 12 volt side of the ballast then?

The solid white wire should be a full 12V, a stripe added will be reduced voltage. Make sure you don't use the factory coil with your new distributor or it won't last long.
