how very sad.
so what's the solution to this reoccurring problem we have in America? Do we make sure all students are armed like some would like in America?
http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/2012/02/06/20120206senate-panel-to-hear-guns-on-campus-bill.html
seems like any attempt to restrict access to guns is met with strong opposition in this country, so should we go the opposite direction, and ensure everyone is carrying a weapon?

I don't know if it can be fixed now, and it's not just the USA.
Bob, it would be hard to fix now, but that shouldn't stop us from trying. Continuing along the same path will only see things get worse.
Guns are the problem, do we want more or less of them is the question which needs to be addressed.
If every student in the school had been carrying, chances are that by the time anyone reacted, nothing would have ended differently except that the shooter may have been shot and killed also, and maybe some others who may have been mistaken for the gunner. The only thing is for teachers (and fellow students) to be diligent in reporting any suspicious behavior or indications of mental problems.
You already know my stance on guns if you've been here long enough. I'll not repeat myself.
I don't, and I guess I'll never know if you won't repeat it
You will never eliminate guns. Framing the question this way is just looking for a fight. Allowing children at high school to carry weapons is silly and you know it.
Conversely the suggestion in your link has merit. Allowing adults with carry permits on college campuses would be a positive step. The incident at Virginia Tech could have been minimised if someone else was armed.
Another incident where Nidal Malik Hasan shot and killed 12 and wounded 31 more ON an Army base presents compelling reasons to allow Army personnel to remain armed.
Disarming law abiding citizens Always plays into the criminals hands. The example of Washington DC should teach that lesson.
Like the old joke says " More people have been killed in Ted Kennedys car than by my guns"
RJ, bringing politics into the equation. You should really read the forum rules.
So you would support teachers packing heat when teaching on campus?

Your solution to the gun problem is more guns. Gotcha
This problem really began in the 1960 when we banned prayer and the Bible, and kicked God out of our schools. Check out the charts. Most show a steep rise in all kinds of unsocial behaviours. We reap what we sow. Banning guns only plays into the criminals hands. In the 1960 we brought guns to school to show our friends and teachers. Shooting each other never occurred to us.

"
It is not a gun problem its a morals problem.
Your solution leaves only the Criminals armed.
Doug is right the problem is not guns it is the moral decay that you seem to promote.
In high school we had guns in our cars on the days we planned go shooting after school.
Now days a female A student member of the ROTC gets suspended for having her drill rifle in the car.
The rifle was a solid wood and painted white.
Me getting political? Just cause I remembered old Teddy killing his date?
I thought you were political when you posted the link to a proposed law in Arizona.
Oh thats right its only political if it disagrees with you.
so England must not have a morals problem, gotcha. Do you ever make sense?
what's my solution? you seem to know it without me even stating it, you're amazing !! It's almost like you have something magical on you.
I'm promoting moral decay? can you show me an example of some moral decay I'm promoting?
Care to share a link of that ROTC girl? Did she break any rules/laws? She was arrested for having a fake gun in her car???
Am I the only one who thinks this isn't necessarily a "gun" issue? If there were no guns at all, and this kid was looking to put a hurt on some other kids, he'd have used a knife. If no knife, he'd have used a baseball bat or run over someone with his car in the parking lot.
Seems to me the real issue is how this kid got to this point. If he was a bad seed just looking to cause trouble, then it's likely he's done some other bad things prior to this. Where the heck are the parents in all this? Who is raising this kind of kid and letting things get to this? If the kid was provoked into this kind of horrible action, what was happening to push him to this point?
Anybody with a sperm and egg is allowed to have a kid and with an ever increasing population the number of bad seeds is likely to just keep going up (assuming you get some approximately fixed percentage of bad seeds).
The real issue is how to stop situations from getting to the point of no return - killing someone is absolutely the point of no return. The gun didn't fire itself, a person took aim and pulled that trigger.
Mitch, I agree with most of what you said.
But if the kid didn't have a gun, you're right, he may have showed up at school with a knife or a bat, killing and injuring far less people, possibly nobody, than he was able to do.

As far as I know it's perfectly legal to send your kids to a religious school, and I'd encourage you to do this if you happen to be religious.
Myself, I'd be picketing the public school if they tried to teach my kids religion there.
Oh, and it's also perfectly legal for kids to pray in a non-disruptive manner and at appropriate times while in a public school, and I'd defend their right to do that as an advocate of freedom of religion in this country, regardless of if I happen to believe in that religion.
Also, if God exists I highly doubt He could be kicked out of any where He wants to be present.

I hear you, Joe, but we could debate the semantics all day. Any twelve year old girl who is pissed off at her classmates could bring a couple dozen cupcakes to school after lacing them with poison, and she would have walked right through the front door with the principal likely holding the door open for her! It's easy to get a higher victim count, but that's really not the issue.

The perpetrator is being described as a bullied outcast. He was probably targeting specific individuals.
A boy who lived up the street from me when I was growing up was also a bullied outcast, but dealt with it in a different manner, by breaking into the school one night and hanging himself in the art room.

As much as people would like to place the blame elsewhere, the bulk of the problem comes down to bad parenting. The challenges are tougher these days, dues to various factors, but that does not change where most of the responsibility lies.
not in my kids school anymore. kids can't bring any food into the school, except for themselves anymore. not even on Halloween. and if there is a kid with a peanut allergy in their class, they can't being PB&J sandwiches in either.
and this isn't about semantics, it's real life, where large amounts of people can die in an instant with a gun.
what Rod said is true, but we will never get rid of bad parents.

I too agree with Rod, albeit I won't concede that things are tougher since that's difficult to quantify and validate.
The word I would use is: ACCOUNTABILITY
Who is accountable when a juvenile (anyone under 18) does wrong? In my mind, and perhaps I'm being simplistic, it's the parents. The parents are the ones who declare that kid as their "dependent." For the last generation or so, I think we've seen a swing of attitude whereby many try to hold many others accountable. The parents say it's the school who must control distribution of "peanut butter" and it's the teacher who is accountable for little Johnny being able to read. Well, my views are mostly in the middle (see how I didn't use the word "politics" at all?!) and I believe it's the people declaring little Johnny as their dependent who are accountable for all such stuff. If he's allergic to peanut butter, teach him to avoid it! Teach him right from wrong. Don't do your "job" as a parent, and you should be "fired."
I suspect things will start swinging back the other way when enough people are fed up.
Okay, time for me to go back to my simple little world where everything is crystal clear and black and white with no gray areas.
Blaming it on the parents at this time is a bit speculative, don't you think?
I'm torn on the peanut butter issue. It does seem a bit over reaching that kids can't bring peanut butter products to school anymore, or share food with other kids. BUT, from what I understand, a kid can instantly die from exposure to peanut products. In a classroom of 5 year olds, how can you expect your kid to avoid peanut butter, when they can't even tie their own shoes.
Should we say keep your kid out of school if he has an allergy? Not sure that's legal, as all kids are guaranteed an education. So should we create separate classrooms for kids with peanut allergies? Seems a bit cruel and costly to me. So the seemingly logical approach would be to not allow kids bring in food products for other kids, and ban peanut products in classrooms where a kid with an allergy exists.
And I think parents are held accountable if their kids goes out and destroys other peoples property, or shoots up a school with a gun not stored properly.
Blaming it on the parents at this time is a bit speculative, don't you think?
"
I think you are correct, Karl, as far as specific cases, and this case in specific.
My comment was about our society as a whole. There will always be cases where parents do what they can, but there is no support structure to help them with emotionally disturbed kids, etc. There will always be specific cases where school staff drop the ball in handling problem kids. Ultimately, however, the parents are responsible to keep up communication with their kids, be involved with what's going on a school, and do what's necessary to seek help or find solutions before things get to the critical stage.
And until all the facts are known, it's always a possibility that these parents (or the parent) did all they could to no avail.

Ugh, Joe, this is how things get passed on and everyone assumes the very rare "extreme" case is the norm. Only in the rarest cases of allergic nut reaction will someone potentially go into anaphylaxis. If that happens then someone needs to administer a shot of epinephrine. The kid should be carrying epinephrine on his person if he's one of these extreme cases since he never knows when he'll be exposed. Have you ever even heard of such a situation when you were a kid? Seems we all must have cheated death to the extreme to grow up eating PB&J. Your so called logical approach to not allow kids to bring peanut products sounds impossible to manage - hey, kid, what kind of candy bar is that? What kind of granola bar is that? What's in that milkshake? Impossible!?!
Mitch, it does seem impossible to manage, but they are. Do you have kids in the school system? Policies like what I have described have been in place for many years. So it can be managed, and quite effectively I might add. It is the norm that you cannot share food in school anymore, at least at the grammar school level. Maybe as the kids get older the rules are relaxed.
Like I said earlier, I'm torn.
http://www.aafa.org/display.cfm?id=9&sub=20&cont=517
So your solution for a kid in kindergarten is to let everyone bring in peanut products and share them, and ensure the 5 year old is carrying his epinephrine shot, because if exposed, he literally could die in minutes.
Like I said, I'm torn.
It's not a matter of simply avoiding peanuts, Mitch. Peanut sensitivity is becoming widespread -- much more so than when we were kids. I suspect the American diet and industrial food system we're stuck with in this country might have something to do with it. It may be a new genetic mutation? In any event, there are children who will react severely if even in the same environment as peanuts. My granddaughter is one, and her mom carries epiPens with her wherever she goes.
It is my personal theory that situations like this are in large part caused by political correctness. We live in an age where nothing can be said if it offends anyone or makes them feel "uncomfortable." Years ago there were probably more households with firearms than there are today, yet tragic situations like this did not happen. Current social theory teaches that all people should be coddled, and a positive self image be emphasized. Some schools even require that teachers NOT use a red pencil to mark errors on papers because that reflects negatively on the corrected student. Some youth sports leagues don't keep score because that would make the losers feel like, well, losers. Kids today don't know how to deal with disappointment, rejection, and mistakes due to this. They have no concept of personal responsibility. Consequently they don't have experience and don't know how to handle themselves. The result? They bring a gun to school and start shooting. I think road rage is another manifestation of this same phenomenon. They are given most everything whether they have earned it or not, and have developed an attitude that they are entitled to whatever they want, and any problems they have are caused by others, not themselves, and they are simply poor victims, not individuals, responsible for their own life and situation.

I'm pretty sure it's sticky notes. As soon as they were invented and used in schools, business, and industry, things rapidly went downhill. Perhaps if they were white instead of yellow...
...I'll have to give that some thought RodH....on the face of it it seems absurd...but then after a short nap...????
Interesting theory Rod, but I blame Bill Gates. All was good until MS-DOS.
Karl, thats what Wayne was gettin at...all this feminist MS sht...and DOS...the spangelation of our alferbit......

AURORA - A local school district has suspended a member of the Young Marines youth leadership group after students saw drill props in her vehicle.
Marie Morrow, a 17-year-old senior at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, is serving a 10-day suspension. Her punishment could be extended at an expulsion hearing later this month.
Morrow is a student leader in the Douglas County Young Marines, a group dedicated to teaching leadership and life skills.
Cherry Creek Schools suspended Morrow after other students reported seeing guns inside her SUV, which was parked outside school while she was in class.
The school also called police, who seized the three drill team guns made of wood, plastic and duct tape. Police told Morrow to claim them in time for her after-school drill practice off-campus.
School administrators, however, were less understanding. The guns were declared "authentic representations of genuine weapons," triggering a mandatory expulsion statute in state law.
"I have never been in trouble at all," said Morrow, who is planning to attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy. "I hadn't imagined in a million years that anything like this would have happened."
Chris Proctor, commanding officer of the Douglas County Young Marines, was rebuffed in his attempt to explain the props to school leaders.
"There's no mistaking that these are not real rifles," said Proctor. "I think somewhere along the line, logic has to take over and they have to be able to make exceptions to the rules."
"Marie is one of the best kids that you could ever imagine," he said.
"I could see where the school could be freaked out about it," said Morrow. "But I think there should be some leeway with the law based on situations and realize this is just an honest mistake."
"The law doesn't make any distinction between a genuine weapon and a facsimile," said Cherry Creek Schools spokeswoman Tustin Amole.
Amole says federal and state laws mandate expulsion, and that school districts only have discretion to determine the length of that expulsion.
Asked who had the discretion to deem the props "dangerous weapons," Amole said school administrators and police made the decision based on state law that defines a "dangerous weapon" as "a firearm, whether loaded or unloaded, or a firearm facsimile that could reasonably be mistaken for an actual firearm."
Amole said the props in Morrow's vehicle caused concern among students and administrators who made an "assumption" that the weapons appeared "genuine."
Morrow's mother grew emotional while saying she hoped her daughter would continue her volunteer and service work despite the incident.
"I just don't want it to affect her view on the world, (make her believe) that people who do the right thing don't come out on top," said her mother, Jennifer McGrew. "I've always kind of really looked up to my daughter for having a mind of her own and going places that I never even dreamed."
A hearing officer could recommend Morrow be allowed back in school after her 10-day suspension or could expel her for as much as the rest of her senior year. The final decision belongs to the Cherry Creek Schools superintendent.
Morrow, who has already secured the necessary recommendation from a member of Congress to attend the Merchant Marine Academy, has been told an expulsion would not derail her eventual acceptance to the Academy.
"As long as I can get my diploma, I guess everything else will work itself out," said Morrow, who explained she's trying to focus on her planned career of service. "It's not going to be the end of the world."

Comparing England and USA on this subject is like apples to oranges. What moral issues they have are irrelevant to this discussion.
In the USA there are over 250,000,000 guns in civilian ownership. The guns are here. They will always be here. What to do with them here is the question. People talk about "getting rid of guns" but the odds of that happening are virtually nil. To change the Constitution takes a 75% majority of both the House and the Senate approving the resolution. IF 75 % of both houses ever did it the change would then go to each state where 75% of all the states would then need to approve the change. Currently about 50% of households in the country posses firearms. About 14,000,000 fire arms are bought new each year.
Here is a list that correlates with gun purchasing. Pick 38 States who will voluntarily give up their guns. The "Pro-Gun" State of Arizona is #41 on the list.

Here's a full article, with an additional photo. It was stated that a 2 year old should be able to tell they weren't real. I'll not comment on that. You guys have your own brains and judgement, and can decide for yourselves.

deleted------------------------------------------------------------------------What you see going on with young people has nothing to do with prayer in school what has to do is what thesen kids are spoon fed in television, video games and movies. They grow up with no regaurd to life and death. They watch movies were life means nothing. take some time and listen to the lyrics in some of this rap music. Young man grow up thinking its ok to treat woman like whores, and father babys and then abandon there responsibilitys. They see drug dealers and wise guys as something to aspire to. Then of course we have the other side of the coin with wanna be politicians that want to turn us into a religious nation, come into your bedroom and invade the privacy between husband and wife by banning birth control. Were a country of extremists and its destroying the very fabric of the nation-----------rant over
I'm compiling a list:

I deleted the first part of my post as i wrote it in anger. These peronal attacks on indivuals are getting out of control. Joe Walsh is a peronal friend of mine and as decent a person as there is. He is a good father to his children and a good husband to his wife. He thought enough to pick up the phone and call me persoanlly when my wife suffered through chemo. He is supportive of me and my family. He doesnt even realize the very Christain acts he does. He does not judge. Some may not know why im saying this and some do and thats all that mmatters

No offence just a responce,
The decay of America follows the decay of the family unit in our society. I don't want to take birth control from any, one area where Catholics and I disagree. But killing children is not birth control it is genocide. A society that can justify murdering the most innocent will and is paying the price. Homosexuality and Abortion are a big part of that decay. We have systematically removed the things that once kept families central to society. Many men no longer feel they need to take responsibility for their children. Social mores no longer insist they do. In fact the music you discuss glorifies this irresponsibility.
The safety net used to be the extended family now it is Big government. Coincidence?
You talk about no regard for life and treating women poorly. The very definition of abortion.
The sexual depravity of our society is overwhelming. These days the power to give life is just a toy and the life given is just an inconvenience to dispose of. Is it no wonder, Your words, "They grow up with no regaurd to life and death. Young man grow up thinking its ok to treat woman like whores, and father babys and then abandon there responsibilitys"
People complain about the symptoms but defend the causes.
No Randy there is offense and plenty of it. How you can call yourself a christian is beyond me. Homsexuality has nothing to do with the decay of our nation. What these people want is not to be hated and lets be honest you despise them. You refuse to believe that it could be a gene mutation because then you'd have to treat them the same as you'd treat a physically handicaped person. You think its a choice, but i have yet to meet a gay man who told me he wanted to be with another man because he wanted to be differnet or had a choice. Maybe ive not been fair to you as i dont know what your Bible says. I do know what my bible says. I also know what my Bible says of other sins. On the subject of abortion,i oppose it as do many homosexuals. Does that surprise you that a gay person would not want his or her sister, friend ect to have a abortion? When you put the words homosexual and abortion in the same sentence this shows me how you think.I cant change the world and i cant change your mind nor do i want,i will include you in my prayers that someday you will realize that these people are also Gods children and deserve compassion and Gods mercey. I will offer you one last thought and think about this as i have done. There is truth in this and its not made up but real. AS a parent what kind of son or daughter would we prefer. The son who fathers multiple children with no thought as to support or responsibility, the son who abuse's others, lies, cheats, steals. Contributes nothing, just takes. Or the child who never gave a parent one moment of un happiness. The child who treats his parents with love and respect. Is sucessful and well regaured by all. Gives of there self freely to worth causes but is gay. Ive made my choice
A sin is a sin and I am not the one to judge who sins.
All of us are faced with difficult things to overcome in this life.
A pathological liar must learn not to lie.
A man with anger issues must learn to over come his hostilities.
A person with same sex attraction must learn to deal with them.
Every person born into this world will have their challenges, No one is spared.
Chastity is defined for a man as "Having no sexual relations except with his wife to whom he is legally married". For a woman it is "having no sexual relations except with her husband to whom she is legally married"
Sexual relation outside of the sanctity of marriage is a sin. Marriage is only between a man and a woman. I did not define the laws of chastity I simply repeated them.
There is not sin in having sinfull tendancies, we all do, The sin is in acting upon them. There is no hate in this belief only sorrow. Sorrow for the sons and daughters of god.
The golden rule covers a lot of it. Just about all of it, IMO. It even applies to things we do to ourselves, since that greatly affects those around us.
To believe in the concept of sin, however, a person has to believe in the concept of God. Until we bring the discussion to a commom framework, there isn't really much of a discussion.
A sin is a sin and I am not the one to judge who sins.

To Mr Brown, your reply sadened me. Not so much for me as much as the fact that i as well as others have gay family members who must go through life and deal with people that feel like you do. However i must practice what i believe and i have no ill will toward you nor would i encourage any one to write a reply that would be spiteful toward you. I read your reply numerous times, just to make sure i understand it. I feel i do and fully grasp your religious convictions. I would however hope that we can be civil and repectful of each other and our religious and peersonal beliefs. The fact that of how you view gays is not the issue, what is,is the way you might link it to the destruction of society. Knowing very well that these perescuted people have exisited since the begining of time. Id ask you keep this in mind when you express your views and i should show respect and restraint in reply. . In closing id ask all not to reply directly to this incident,i think all that has been said has been said. respectful steveY
Given that removing guns is not a possibility.
What is your solution?
"
Why is it not a possibility?
"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"
In Italy the widow of a murdered mafia-fighting magistrate created an organisation called the "Association of Sicilian Women against the Mafia". Talk about courage.
All it would take would be for good people to stand up to the NRAA. Courageous people to point out that this so-called constitutional relic from the past does not apply to the modern world because it is causing the senseless deaths of thousands of of men, women and children.
What America needs is a Ghandi or Martin Luther King to lead an anti-gun movement.
I don't think it is not possible. I think it is possible if enough good men do something.
And yes, it is relevant from non-Americans to be horrified at the senseless deaths of school children and others in other countries.
There are way too many of us who simply believe you are wrong. There are many good reasons to own guns. The reason the second amendment exists is as the final check and balance in the system. We are citizens not subjects. Historically all governments have eventually become repressive of their own citizens. Human nature being what is is history will repeat again.
Fools that say it can't happen here:
Because of bigotry and political difference the governor of Missouri issued the "extermination order" Under the authority of the state innocent people were killed, they were driven from their lands. These lands were stolen by the murderous mobs. Upon appeal to the US government nothing was done. Political expediancy trumped justice.
Boggs' Missouri Executive Order Number 44, read as follows:“
Headquarters of the Militia, City of Jefferson, Oct. 27, 1838.
Gen. John B. Clark:
Sir: Since the order of this morning to you, directing you to cause four hundred mounted men to be raised within your division, I have received by Amos Reese, Esq., of Ray county, and Wiley C. Williams, Esq., one of my aids [sic], information of the most appalling character, which entirely changes the face of things, and places the Mormons in the attitude of an open and avowed defiance of the laws, and of having made war upon the people of this state. Your orders are, therefore, to hasten your operation with all possible speed. The Mormons must be treated as enemies, and must be exterminated or driven from the state if necessary for the public peace--their outrages are beyond all description. If you can increase your force, you are authorized to do so to any extent you may consider necessary. I have just issued orders to Maj. Gen. Willock, of Marion county, to raise five hundred men, and to march them to the northern part of Daviess, and there unite with Gen. Doniphan, of Clay, who has been ordered with five hundred men to proceed to the same point for the purpose of intercepting the retreat of the Mormons to the north. They have been directed to communicate with you by express, you can also communicate with them if you find it necessary. Instead therefore of proceeding as at first directed to reinstate the citizens of Daviess in their homes, you will proceed immediately to Richmond and then operate against the Mormons. Brig. Gen. Parks of Ray, has been ordered to have four hundred of his brigade in readiness to join you at Richmond. The whole force will be placed under your command.
I am very respectfully, yr obt st [your obedient servant],
L. W. Boggs, Commander-in-Chief.[13]
137 years later the order was recinded. Lands were never returned. The constititional rights were trampled, innocents were murdered by and under authority of the state.
Today I see the decay and hate coming from the right, the Xtians, the so called "good folk"
It will be interesting to see if this kid comes from a strict religious family with guns in the house. Look at where the school shootings seem to happen the most.
The Gawd N' Guns states not the flaming lib states like Calif or Oregon
The culture of hate and division preached to these kids from their parents is the problem. This kid was bullied by his classmates.
Where do kids learn bullying?
From home watching their fathers.
From being in the car when his father is listening to Limbaugh spewing his hate.
From being told those "different" are inferior
Some kids face it at school and at home. Can you imagine a life like that?
Most kids can weather the schoolmate bullying so long as they don't have to face it at home too. A person needs some shelter from the outside world.
Of course I will be slammed for even giving a hint of compassion for the shooter but look at the pictures of this kid, he looks in terrible pain. He did need shelter from his life but maybe that shelter should have come from his fellow students. Instead of bullying him maybe a hand out would have helped. His home life may have been intolerable and his school life seemed to have been just as intolerable. The intolerance from his peers helped create this shooting.

My wife is an elementary school teacher. She has high expectations...but she always tries to make her classroom a safe and comfortable environment for her kids. Too many of them come from very unstable home environments, with a whole range of problems I need not go into.
Throughout history people who were minorities and "different" have been unfairly persecuted. Unfortunately some of this persecution remains to this day.

Yep, things were just great in the 50s..............................unless you weren't white, straight, and a Christian.
This is the America they want to take us back to.....
for a guy who claims to not judge, your posting history sure indicates otherwise.
as a former christian myself, I wasn't taught to judge others as you do on a daily basis. clearly mormons believe otherwise, perhaps mormons can learn a thing or 2 from christ, with the main lesson being love and acceptance of those who do no harm to themselves or others. you should really read up on christ, he was an amazing human being.
I'll keep a list of things you say on MGE, as a constant reminder to my myself of what never to become.
back to your claim on not being the one to judge, lets recap the Best of RJ
you call gays sinners
called Whitney Houston a crack whore
called people who have addictions idiots
called kids who complain about chores 'spoiled brats'
called teenagers 'the entitled generation'
talked crap about his own daughter on a public forum
but you don't judge
It amazes me that people can visit a public forum and spread such vitriol while hiding behind the banner of religion.
ohh, you keep leveling attacks against me, without providing links to back them up, should I stop waiting for you to backup your lies? Is lying a sin I wonder?

You know the problem with radical liberals and conservatives, they don't know when to shut up, they are too busy trying to rob you of your freedoem by forcing their ideas on you, it amazes me that Americans can be so small minded, there are more than two flavors of ice cream you know.
Skye, I thought we shut down the OTP???????????????????? Please get these people off this forum !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RJ, you will never eliminate woman's control over her body, so why do you keep trying to impose your religious beliefs on everyone around you?
Why not the same with guns?
If you believed in Christ, do you think he would be an advocate for gun ownership?

Hap,
Here's a quote I saw yesterday that I think is apropos:
"Freedom isn’t for everyone because what freedom signifies is different to everyone. And in societies where the definitions and desires of freedom are too broad and too contradictory to permit a general consensus to take shape, the end result is that no one is going to be permitted any significant degree of freedom at all."
Seems more and more, this is where we're headed.
If you believed in Christ, do you think he would be an advocate for gun ownership?
Luk 22:36 And He said to them, But now, he who has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his wallet. And he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.
I think it would be fair to replace the word "sword" here with a more contemporary term. Perhaps, AR15?
Hap is a drive-by poster
Makes his comments, then in the same exact post complains about other people sharing their opinion
pretty funny
stay consistent Hap !!!!!

Joe, The fact still remains, this is a MG website, and you sir are one of the the biggest problems here, you should be the first one shown the door, you offer no benefit to this site, and only come here to start trouble. I'm sure there are many political sites you could visit and save us all here the trouble of dealing with you, oh and just so you know I'm into equal rights, I think your over the top conservative counterparts should leave with you.
Oh and for all the crap you start here, you're freeloader on top of it all. Sorry Joe, Skye does not owe you a soap box.
hysterical Hap
no need to get your panties in a bunch. why not exercise some personal responsibility and not read a thread if it bothers you. instead you post your opinion then attack others for doing the same.
why not tell us about a black person you know. AHAHAHAHAHAH
Whitney Houston dead thread 91 post School kids shot in head 61 posts
Karl, it seems these threads that Hap hates so much are pretty popular around here.

Sometimes you have to make the tough decisions. ;)
We also have bullying in Australia and are trying to do something about it.
But strangely enough... we don't have many school shootings.
It's not the point that whether I read this stuff, or not, it is the point it breeds hard feelings and brings this forum down, that supposed be about MGB and people who love these car having fun toghether, and this has already been determined by the person who owns this website, that these topics are not allowed here, and my suggestion to him was to show you all the door that refuse to get that message, and then, maybe then we can have peace here and you trouble makers can go cause trouble elsewhere. Skye very much make it clear that this forum is not an arena for any of you all to voice your political or religous opinions here and there are other sites for that. And yes as someone who pays very dearly to be here, I and many other members here want this crap to end, you all were told to stop it, and you still continue to, so don't be surprised when you go to sign on one day and can't, Skye warned you.
hey Hap...............
Do you go down to your local donut shop where a bunch of old geezers may be talking about the world situation ( which you cannot talk about today without a political or religious slant) and ask the owner to kick them out? After all what does that have to do with donuts?
What does meeting your wife or cooking chili or any other of the inane topics brought up here have to do with MGs? I simply skip them and would encourage you to do the same.
I know what you want, you want any opposing view silenced
You are afraid that some here may change their minds if given facts.
Hap, what point are you missing? You dont have to read any of it.. it seems as though some are content with this forum judging by the number of posts, what do you suggest shutting down Off Topic all together? Again, you DO NOT have to venture into the Off Topic Forum, out of sight out of mind.
This has nothing to do with MGs does it Hap?

Yeah, I think the suburban reaction, is always, why didn't he call the cop and files charges, that would assume the cops actually cared, they don't, this sort of stuff happens all day long on their shifts, not like anyone going to actually look for this guy, or he ever gets charged for what he did, this a daed issue as far as the cops are concerned. Having a business in the city, I long ago realized, I was on my own as far as my safety was concerned, the cops just show up to do paperwork after the fact, if that even happens.
No, Hap, your comments above have ZERO chance of turning political in nature...
When did you become officer Waldrop? Why not sign up for the hall monitor job?
I know what you want, you want any opposing view silenced
You are afraid that some here may change their minds if given facts.
"
Howard, the opposing view, LOL, that's funnier than you'll ever know, that narrow mindset is exactly whats wrong with this country, you guys still think you have only two options. No it's pretty clear there are rules here and you all are abusing them. I don't think of myself as either a liberal or a conservative, but if you liberals are so much on having a bunch of laws, and rules, it seems like you could maybe follow them for a change.
Isn't it somewhat ironic, that a handful of freelaoding refugees from the ole OTP are the only ones threatened by me mentioning you are breaking forum rules here, this has nothing to do with off topic, and everything to do with not creating another OTP here.
I didn't know when someone gives you something for free and you take it that it is known as freeloading. You may pay because you want to advertise your shop ,are you paying Skye the same rate as in the paper or phone book? If not then maybe it is you who is freeloading,
If you get some customers off this site then you are benefiting but the rest of use are only getting(sometimes) to vent our spleen.I don't think anyone here is threatened by you at all. I may be wrong but don't web sites make money by the number of hits they get?
If so then the threads you dislike are the ones with the most activity.
Where's SJJ, I think even he'd disagree with the bullying that goes on from Joe, Charles Patrick, and Howard B.....can't argue a point....so shout louder and post more often.
Hap is asking for reason.......your diatribes are only fit to be confined to the bathroom, with penthouse or playboy in one hand, for the articles of course, and your ego in the other...............you equate popularity with the number of messages in one of YOUR threads.....but when the wankers are creating the threads and filling them with messages, they're inventing their own popularity.
And Randy....your ideas about sin may be valid man to man.......but belief in an imaginary being in the sky doesn't do any argument justice. Believe all you want.....just don't pass it on in the hope it may become contagious. At least Ken has had contact with his not so imaginary people in the sky.
Hap, still haven't decided on wheels yet, if you started a thread on that I wonder how much input you'd get from the Three Wise..........?

None, there only existence here is to start topics that cause hard feelings, knowing anything about subject this forum was started for not important to them. I noticed an alraming trend at the old OTP, and you can bet it follow these same type of threads here, you get some passing-by folks in the hobby, you know , one minute they have a MG, and are on the forum asking a million questions and as quickly as they arrive, they then sale the car and move on, but some of them hung around just for the hateful political threads here. Bottom line if you don't allow this sort of stuff, it cease to be. There are palce for tbhis stuff and it's not here, and this sort of nonsense, should not reflect the off topic forum, because most here in OT, do indeed follow the rules.
I had to deal with this sort of BS as a car club president, we all decided that this small group of folks that were disrupting the club and threatening it's very exsitence, and they had to be dealt with, bottom line we showed the the trouble makers the door, and the club continues to thrive without them. The OT forum here does not exist for "politically pocessed" to express thier views here, no matter what they are, nor does it exist for these types of "baiting" threads, and this problem should be dealt with, before it takes this forum back to the ole OTP days.
Skye is very cautious and fair man, he wouldn't act as fast as I would on this, that is for ssure, but it's pretty obvious where this will lead this forum, and it will have to be dealt with at some point.
Hap I hear and understand what your saying, but if you did'nt you should read some of the previous posts in this thread. Maybe if some folks checked there mouth's at the door we would not be even discussing this. I know these guys you mention, two of them are i consider closer friends same as i consider you the same. Folks like you are the salt of the earth, most of who read this dont know what im talkin about but thats ok. It aint about cars. The thing is guys like you and me were a little older, weve been around the block more than a few times and were old enough or mature to know we dont have to agree on all these "hot" topics but we respect one another and get along and thats the key. Aa a new yorker i enjoy the argument, shake hands later and grab a beer, here on the forum however things printed cause hard feelings. Like you i dont need it,it causes me stress and i got enough of that. To be honest i done my share to stir the pot and often it was a result of something i read here that pissed me off. Dont get to nuts with this and i wont either,it aint worth it,have a good day------------------steve

So Charles, you think you didn't bully Gerry the other day in a gay marriage thread, another baited thread started here by you troublemakers. Tell me Charles, you do not define what you did to Gerry as bullying? You political trolls are pathetic, and in need of a real life.
I also foind this somewhat interesting, here's a few teneds i see form the folks who start an contribute to these political bait thread here.
1. They are not paying members here, although they use and abuses the forum frequently.
2. They seldomly even list the town, or state they are from.
3. They almost never list thier email intheir profile.
You know what this tells me, they are hiding in real life, they feel like if they somewhat hide thier indenity, they can say and do on the internet whatever they want. We have SCCA racing forum, in which you must use your real name for your username, because its's real hobby, and we only want people on that forum that are either in the hobby or interested in getting into the hobby, sound familar, this is MG forum, created for people who own MGs, or want to have MGs, and yes Skye was nice enough to create a off topic forum, for the members of this MG online community to discuss thing off topic from MGs, but laid down a set of rules, prohibiting certian topics, and you idiots still don't get that, I think it's time he showed you the door, you, and your type offer no positive aspects to this forum, nothing good can be had from keeping you here.
.....with the exception of a few old horses asses, the rest are young turks, doin what young turks are suppose to do...lead the charge....yes yes I get annoyed at it too on occasion for several reasons, primarily because I am in the former category and this Little Red Rooster is just to tired to crow today. But some of their stuff is worthy of mentioning...
The truly offensive stuff are the attacks perpetrated on a relatively innocuous apolitical threads,by malcontents and social pariahs who may or may not have a chemical imbalance....B)-
yep, this is nothin more than one old gray hairs opinion...I suggest we unlax on this a bit...

Boss Hogg, listen I have a life, so keep your personal attacks to a minimum and follow the rules.. the ones you bitch and moan about to others, yet can not follow yourself.
No I did not bully Gerry, I was posing questions... now if Gerry needs someone to defend him, I am sure he will come calling to you. Speaking of Gerry being bullied, have you ever read some of his posts?
I'll show you bullying Charles, so you can identify with it firsthand, and know what it is :)
I research your post here, I just did the last 30 days, in that time period you did not make one single post outside the OT forum, not one post about a MG, on a MG forum and was involved in every single political thread here, many in which Skye had to shut down. Ok to be fair, you are welcome to research my post, most of them involve me trying to help folks in this hobby with advice about their MGs, here on a MG forum. See the point I'm trying to make is, you guys are political trolls, you seldomly ever come here to this forum for it's intened use, but rather to exicte people with forbidden topics here, so tell me Charles what have you contributed to this MG forum, MG wise, other than being a political troll, and why you should be allowed to contiune here, what purpose do you serve in the MG community? This is the MG community, and this is real life, you get that don't you Charles?
don't flatter yourself Hap, nobody, and I mean nobody is threatened by you. you offer nothing except drive-by posting, followed up with complaints.

you described the problem perfectly, we don't share the same ideology as you, you call us liberals, and that bothers you. quit your crying, you are embarrassing yourself.
this thread was started about a current event, then read the responses and figure out who made this political in nature. why not attack that person?
if MGE is only about MGs, explain this Hap

Hap Maybe you don't understand the meaning of OFF TOPIC That means it has nothing to do with MGs. If you are helping people on the other forums ,good for you but some of us are not one dimensional and have other interests. We see the harm being done to our country and in our small way we are trying to do something about it.
Maybe as me you have had MGs for 20 years and really don't have any questions or want to argue over the merits of chrome bumpers. But unlike you I don't care what people talk about in the other forums and don't want to kick the rubber bumper advocates out.
You blame the so called troublemakers but don't look in the mirror and see the fascist that looks back. I'm sure if you whine to Skye enough or threaten to pull your support you might get a small victory by having us kicked off but guess what?
We do have a life and will quickly forget about the guy from SC

As on the playground.. the bully gets his ass handed to him.. Ready Hapless?
February 24th at 12:37 PM I posted on the MGB and GT Forum....
So according to my math... which I do for a living that would fall within the 30 day time frame you looked at, unless of course math is taught differently in South Carolina.
I read that forum daily, if I choose to respond or contribute to a thread that is my choice and not a requirement, you got that?
I have started 1 thread in OT during that time, about traffic cameras.. political troll???? 1 topic I posted, 1 Hap... so as far as your comment about political troll, we both can agree you do not know what the hell you are talking about.
I have posted in NON POLITCAL threads such as:
Price of beer
Favorite Prank
Where did you meet your wife etc. etc...
yes this is an MG community, and I have made several friends on this forum. I communicate with several of them daily via various forms of communications, phone, email and or other.. Some in Oregon, Some in CT, some in NY City.. Some in the UK...
Yes this is real life...
I would offer you up the chance to provide some first hand bullying, but you and I both know how that would turn out.. but if you grow a pair and want to come to CT to show me first hand, I am open to it.
Now, be a man of personal responsibility and apologize to me for spreading misinformation. You are a man of personal responsibility right Hap?
Edit... took the names of those I consider friends made through the MG community to protect the guilty, but you know who you are.

Is it a requirement to pay?
Is it a requirement to show my email?
The answer is NO....
Quit your complaining and get over it already.
Oh and Hap... I could care less about what you post here and wouldnt waste my time researching it...
Oh Hap:
I just thought of another question for you, how do you feel about the threads that have half naked women on the forum? Is that appropriate?

Do you want those guys who put up such threads simply to titillate people kicked off?

Joe, The fact still remains, this is a MG website, and you sir are one of the the biggest problems here, you should be the first one shown the door, you offer no benefit to this site, and only come here to start trouble. What Joe I am supposed to stay here and baby sit you all day 8-) I have things to do believe it or not, you know a real life :D I don't have time to come on the site and totally waste time, I'll leave that to you, Charles and Howard :) Joe I think you may be a bit confused, I've precisely found the correct forum, I'm a long MG owner, and love these cars, so much so I decided to make this my profession, so coming here non stop and using a MG car forum for a way to promote my opinions and thoughts about politics and religion, and other sensitive topics supposely banned here is not what I come here for. Sounds like I'm exactly where I need to be, but you and the other two stooges seem to be a bit lost
Joe, while I'm sitting typing this to you, pretty much wasting time other than hopefully making this a better place for the members here, my FEDEX delivery person walked in the door, and I open the box she deleivered, it was the 2011 Dave Russell Award, In recognition of Outstanding Contributions to the British car Hobby, presented each year by the British Car Forums, a forum you would never be allowed to do there what you do here, anyway the award's name sake was Dave Russell,a wonderful man who love helping people in this hobby, and the award is given in his name each year. So in short, Joe you can't ruin my day brother, this means as much to me as any of my racing throphies, because I know I'm helping people to love the hobby I love so much. So I think I'm exactly where I should be, thje real question Joe is, are you?

So Hap.... lets take a look at what you had posted in the past.. so you really have now found the correct forum?
So we know you use the N word on a public forum, bash gays.. and want to start another forum

You know one that leaves all that political stuff by the wayside, concentrates on being a car forum, maybe moderated only in the source we get rid of cursing, you know the progrm that won't even let you type it. I mean what Skye done for you or any of us, why do I need to send him money every year, he doesn't come and moderatred when asked, unless it some political crap, remind me again why do we need a political forum on a MG site.
A site where you actually do post the technical data your members send you, I got tired of sending Skye stuff, he doesn't put it in the library.
Kinda weird isn't, over here you got this absentee site adminstrator and the site, hit wise it's off the charts, and other sites where adminstrator actually try to stay after thier site, they don't catch on. my business partner ask me the other day about starting a car forum, I told him, you never know if they are going to catch on or not, there seems to be no way to predict success.
I'm sorry, I don't hold Skye in real high regards based on how he runs this forum, in fact I think he is a slacker. So ole Skye doesn't get any money from me, I just try to give what I would give ole Skye to you, the real MG people.
This place could be alot more than it is, if it was actaully ran, but Skye and I, well mostly just I have had these converstaion via PMs before.
OK, Skye, I tell you I will never say that word here again, thats my promise to you, how about you promise the MG community, to start running this site again.

It's a shame that some folks both right and left on this forum can't do that. People who have to be right all the time too often end up going to congress and that's a cryin damn shame, because all they can do is talk about how wrong the other side is and bicker over everydamnthing a person can think of and get abso-damn-lutely nothing accomplished. A few years ago we had a couple of conservatives on the forum posting crap to start and arguement all the time and finally they got hooted off. It wasn't pretty coming from the right, it isn't pretty coming from the left. Like Hap, I wonder why Skye puts up with some of the bull crap on here when we're not supposed to make political posts. Charles, even your avatar is a mockery of an individual's religious expression. How many football field-goal kickers, how many basketball free-throwers have you seen doing the sign of the cross before they take their shot? How many receivers have you seen who touched their knee in a bow after a making a big run or reception across the goal line, and nobody, but nobody ever said a word about that. But let an outspoken religious guy take a knee and all of a sudden everybody has to start mocking him. Why do you feel the need to make fun of someone with different views from you? Some of you people are nothing but antagonists out to make fun of, bully, and ridicule people who are different from you. Why on God's green Earth can't you just accept them at face value like Hap and I accept each other. So submittng library material, and he telling us he will post it, and not and the site being down for week at a time, while he's gone or absent, all that ok with you all too.
I have little to no respect for how Skye runs this forum, that why I give him nothing, oh trust me I tried. If you leanred something here, got linked to something you needed here, had one of the forum member to help you thru a problem here, I doubt Skye had much to do with it. I hope when they put me in hole in the ground someday, I known for helping people that love these cars, and not for starting a forum and then abandoning it, when something else came up.
Lets face it, Skye is just some guy who has a forum and a MG, not some MG guy who has a MG forum.

Rather than start a new forum, why not convince the website master/owner to make the changes and additons that people want to see. The cost and time to run and maintain one of these must be very consuming. I know people have asked for these changes, maybe a conversation and help is what is needed.
IMHO I think we have a winner, in the post Jeff made.
I mean look guys at what is happening here, we have this great MG forum that moves at a incredible clip, has covered about every self help topic you can think about here, a forum so popular it has attractred the hobby's professionals, shop owners, racers, LBC business owners, some of them I'm sure would love to advertise here, to be hoinest with you, I know of no palce I rather advertise more, but can't because the adminstrator here is always away. Skye does not make the post that help you fix your car, post the pictures of things so to fuel your direction on your car and just see what part is you are missing, Skye hasn't fixed one car here, not even his own, in fact he pretty much null and void here. tell me how many of you have every PMed or email him before and did he even respond, and if he did it probably took weeks. maybe instead of giving Skye 50 bucks every year, you ask him to do his job to earn your membership first, thats not asking alot of someone, I pay you, do your freaking job!
Skye threatened to kick me out of here, because something I said over the political forum, somewhere I visit not that often here, but I do get sucked into a debate over ther, now over there he pounces into action when his little nerve gets hits but over here he pretty much ignores us. here's a idea, if you come to MG forum prmairly to debate poiltics, you need to go someone where else, and Skye need to get rid of the crap here, we don't need it here. So if you think Skye doesn't already moderate you are mistaken, he does, just over on a forum side that doesn't even need to be here.
I not going to say what I said over there (political forum) to awaken Skye from his slumber was edgey, it was it was to prove a point, that we in the country are afraid to even say terms or bring up certain topics, the mere mention of a given word form a certain color of lips is taboo. What I said was not racist, it was meant to bring awareness to stuff people in this country ignore, Am I pissed at thge headless rider web aminstrator for now bouncing int action, yeah I'm pissed abit about it, where the hell was he when we really need him on this forum. Sorry I have little respect for this guy, doubt much will happen to change that.
Skye if you want to kick me off here, do it or shut up about it.

Skye is a guy who had a MGB, heck maybe still has one, got lucky as hell because after alittle initial work to get this forum going, it took off, ittook off because of th people that post here, and the help and advice they as a group offered up to their fellow. Count the gold stars at $48 a year, and the silver one at what 25 a year, I had epopel tell me they are like 500 paying members here, you do they math, not a bad gig, for something you now hardly ever work anymore, tell me not one of you wouldn't like that action. He's slacer of a site adminstrator, other here have offered to buy this site form him, he ain't selling this hoiney hole, you can bet on that but could care less if it's made better either. Can some else do a better job, god I sure hope so.
Basil, since you want to play mindreader, yes this started over something I said on the off topic side, but there's alot more to it than that, as said here before, why do we need a political forum on a MGB forum, nuke that crap and be done with it, but no Skye won't do that because he has developed a new customer base from the political forum, I mean you look up and all of the sudden you have 100 paying members who almost only post on the political side, and you'd be hurting your incme if you cut it out, but if you going to let that shit exist, then you need to get the heck out of the way, and let people speak thier mind and not a a girly man, I'm for nuking that crap, but thats me, it never belonged on a car fourm, even the SCCA prod site has kept politics out of the mix.
So in closing I will not ever apologize to Skye, for anyhting I've said here, I'm not mad at him either, but we're not friends, and he is no friend to the hobby either, so maybe it's time to take this show on the road, we can do better for damn sure.

Some background for you all. I recently sent "Hap Waldrop" a private message informing him if he used the "n" word again in the OT Politics forum, he would be banned permanently from the forum.
So Hap, if you want to go start your own forum, feel free. Your bile is not welcome here.

Perhaps it is time for you Hap to make your own forum?? Seems as though you have been whining the same song for several years...

You ever consider starting your own forum? You seem to have many ideas on who should and shouldn't be here. You could also charge to be a member.
You're a business man, make it happen.

What Joe I am supposed to stay here and baby sit you al day 8-) I have things to do believe it or not, you know a real life :D I don't have time to come on the site and totally watse time, I'll leave that to you, Charles and Howard :) Joe I think you may be a bit confused, I've precisely found the correct forum, I'm a long MG owner, and love these cars, so much so I decided to make this my profession, so coming here non stop and using a MG car forum for a way to promote my opinions and thoughts about politics and religion, and other sensitive topics supposely banned here is not what I come here for. Sounds like I'm exactly where I need to be, but you and the other two stooges seem to be a bit lost :I3:

Hap.. I started 1 thread in the past couple months about traffic cameras?
I didnt start a thread about Jesus Christ leading a QB to victory in the NFL.. did I comment on it.. yep...

You're 100% right Jack, Joe, Howard and Charles' whole reason for being here is to start trouble and the site would be better off without them, what's the ole saying, give the man enough rope and he'll hang himself, these cats are well on their way.
Our whole reason here is to start trouble? Bullshit Hap.. I started 1 thread in the past couple months.. I have made many friends on here.. so quit your bitching.. its getting old, take some personal responsibility and apologize for your blatant lies you posted this morning.. you're a BIG man...
Jack, I think you have it backwards.

I think Hap has the problem of accepting other opinions. Look at that post from 3 years ago, the guy has issues. Look at this thread, looks at other threads where he was making racist comments. Should we accept Hap's comments, smile and move on? Some people choose to call it out, much like you are calling us out for our perceived treatment of Hap.
I like to engage in debate, I like topics like this thread. RJ who has been sparring with us is a big guy, he can handle the pressure, why can't Hap simply not read OT if it upsets him so much?
If someone calls me the things Hap called me, or calls me a sinner like RJ does, or make claims like gays are ruining society and are responsible for the moral decay, well expect a debate from me. I won't call you names or act like a baby, but I will use your own words to debate. Like you get upset when Hap is called out, I get upset when people make hateful comments. If you are big enough to make the comments on a public forum, you should be big enough to handle the feedback.
Look at how I'm handling your feedback, I didn't call you a name, threaten to report you, or suggest you leave. Search my past posts, if I ever act like that, it is the exception, not the norm, unlike Hap.
I'm sure Skye is relieved you now approve the way he runs his business.
You simply don't get it Hap. You are all too often on the receiving end of this crap, yet it's everyone's fault, but your own.
I think Skye said it best
Your bile is not welcome here.

But I don't want you to leave, you provide hours of entertainment.
And for a guy who is so adamant that OT shouldn't exist on an MG forum, explain this:

Joe, I agree with that that comment 100%, I think thats the point, these topics always bring out the worse in folks whether, it's me, you or whoever. There's a good reason why these type of topics are not allowed in many businesses, because they get real ugly, real quick, and they don'r belong here. We came a long way here, since the ugly days of the OTP, and I surely hope we continue that progress. Joe, if you really read into some of past comment regarding politics, we actually agree on more than a few topic, but regardless of that, this is not the palce for this sort of thing and Skye has determined that with his forum rules.
Think about this Joe, remember some fo the folks on the OTP, they are not around anymore, when Skye shut down the OTP, they vanished, which really was a good thing since this is a MG car forum, there are other palces to debate politics. The fact remains, that the OTP developed a new sort of forum member, one who came here only for political debate, thats kinda sad if you think about.
I'll tell you another that gets my goat here, is non believers making fun of believers, Charles avator is a prime example of that. Now it might surprise you to find out, I ain't the good ole Southern Baptist you might think I am, far from it, I have not been in church for something other than a funeral or wedding in 25 years, and have no palns to be there anytime soon, and not real big fan of orginaized religion, but neverhteless everyone should be shown respect, if someone does not believe, or believes, that should be respected. I'm truely ahamed of what some of you non believer has said openly said on this forum about the Christian faith, you should be ashamed. I know it works both ways, the gay marriage thing, but then you guys did start that thread too. Oh and Joe, I might shock you on that topic too. Bottom line, this stuff has no good reason to be here, and that has already been decided by the webmaster, now it just needs to be enforced.
Hap what about believers posting about Jesus Christ intervening in a football game? Does that get your goat? Or what about believers coming here and judging peoples sexual orientation or other lifestyles and condeming them? Like homosexuality is a mental issue, its a deviant lifestyle.. its a sin..
ashamed of comments on the Christian faith... are you also equally ashamed of comments leveled at the Muslim faith Hap?
so Hap, you agree 100% with RJ saying I'm responsible for promoting the moral decay of America?
and I never make fun of christianity, I highlight the hypocrisy of those who flaunt their religion on a public forum, while at the same time promoting bigotry towards gays. If people actually lived like christ there wouldn't be a single problem in the world.
Walsh.. highlighting hypocrisy is to many an attack on their faith.. it in fact is not.. like you said the vitriol by tolerant, loving, accepting Christians towards gays...
When someone says that because a QB is openly religious the lord led that team to victory.. a comment comes about the lord being more concerned with a football game than with a dying child.. well that is perceived an as attack on faith..
in fact it is not...
Joe, sorry for any misunderstanding, I was saying I agree with your statement, that his comments did turn the thread on a downward spiral, thats what these sorts of threads do when started.
I'm not accusing you of picking on folks of the Christian faith, just some folks on this site, I can't recall any of your comments oin that topic, so I'll take your word for it. And yes the road travel both ways, some Christians, for sure cross the line as well. This is not about conservatives vs liberals, this is about place and time, and a MG car forum.
Hap, as you said previously, we probably agree more than we disagree.
I'm glad this is ending civilly, I enjoy reading your posts both on the Midget and OT side.

LOL, so funny Charles, so you posted 1 time in actual car forum, on car forum, maybe I should send you the Dave Russell award :D So I guess this doesn't make you the trouble maker I thought you were. "Come to CT", not in this liftetime, and as far as "growing a pair", LOL, dude you have no idea, and that's probably best.:D Maybe that's one reason not to stop the nonsense, for the humor factor, and then one reason to stop this nonsense, is the clueless will never have a clue, and these things never end, that pretty much what happen on the old OTP forum, no one ever won a debate, no one ever changed anyone's mind, it was just senseless never ending ordeal, as it will be again, if allowed here. People always think if they gets the last word in, they are right, so at this point, Charles "Tebrew" Patrick, I yield the floor to you sir, enjoy, and enlighten us B-)
AS far as a way to handle this, it's actually pretty easy, it can be done like it is over at the BCF, with moderators. Skye, Cy, doesn't pay his moderators, they are are just active people on the fourms who volunteered/are appointed, at first I though I didn't like the idea of a moderated forum, but after awhile I learned it was no different than any other place that I was expected to mind my manners, and it's kinda funny, once people "get it", they get along, behave themselves, and there's no need for the moderator to do anything most of the time, the trouble makers, either straighten up, or move on. I think on the BCF, in 10 years, I've seen maybe 3-4 passionate debates break out, couple of them ended up being self policed by the offenders, and a couple were shut down and removed, and none of this had anything to do with politics or religion, those topics will get you banned forever. Skye, you thought enough of this community to shut down OTP, because people can just not behave with these sorts of topics, and there is good reason why they are banned in most places, I think you'll find folks are more willing to wade into the water, when they no there are no sharks in it, so I wouldn't worry about losing members, you'll probably gain members.
Hap your views about all this have im sure the best of intentions however i have some doubts it will ever happen the way you'd like. Folks over a keyboard got big mouths, they say s?it they would'nt have the balls to say to someones face. Me? most think im this easy going guy, true im no tough guy but if some said half the things i find offensive to me in person id Ripe them a new A hole. Folks need to mind there manners,i dont care to here anyones so called values and i dont offer mine. Im a nice guy and folks around her like to piss on your leg then complain when you come back at them. Joe and Chuck are young turks like Wyatt said but there good guys, yes maybe they go to far and even myself as much as im fond of em have argued with them but they stand up for guys like me when im subject to some ass?ole passing judgement on me,my values or my faamily. And as for starting threads here on OT I started 1 in 30 days... so piss off. NO ONE IS FORCNG ANYONE TO READ OR RESPOND TO ANY THREAD.. It is your CHOICE!!!!
If you dont like the way this site is run... leave the exit is right this way --------------------------->
It seems that your rants flare up like hemorrhoids coming and going and annoying.

Hap.... this was my one and only post on this thread until you hijacked it and made it your personal crusade..
Bump... again.. this was my only posting in this thread until you hijacked it Hap...
is it political? Nope
is it trolling? Nope
is it divisive? Nope
was it meant to be a joke... yes...
Steve, I hear you loud and clear, I think some get me wrong on this, I'm not mad, I'm not whining, I am perfectly calm as I type this, I just know that this change will come sooner or later, I vote for sooner. Charles goes on to prove my point with ever post he makes, he gets madder and more threatening, now he wants me to come up to CT. He's worried that his ways may be stifled, he keeps telling me to go somewhere else, it's Skye's forum, and that is correct, it's a MG car forum owned by Skye Nott, with supposed to be casual, friendly off topic forum thrown in for fun, but thats not what Charles, and some others here are about, and I have no plans to go anywhere. I help support this forum, and try to support the MG hobby, my reasons for being here are sport-on, Charles reasons for being here, not so much, I guessing he's bored, maybe he should work on his MG :). I'm no more worthy than anyone else, but I don't have avators with political messages in them to piss people off, my avator has a MG in it. If I constantly break the rules here, I would expect Skye to show me the door, I have broken rules here in the past, and been warned by Skye and now I try to do better. There's just no need for these topics here, this is not the arena for them and they are specificly banned here, and it's time that was enforced, and the ones that this threatens the most are going to be the ones who scream the loudest. Let them scream, doesn't mean I'm going to scream, and it doesn't mean I will back off either.
The off topic forum can be and has been a great place for members to chat about subjects other than MGs, but there is a limit to the subject content and what is appropriate, and we are once again reaching the danger zone, we've been here before, the trouble makers are going to continue to ruin OT forum once agian, if the rule already establsihed here are not enforced.
FWIW, I don't think people are all bad, including Charles, we just sometime act badly and this type of subject matter is what brings it out in most of us, so if rules already in place here are enforced, it's not issue, pretty simple fix if you ask me, abide by the rules, problem solved.
Sorry Hap, you are whining.. you are whining and want people kicked off the forum.. yes that is whining.. I am not getting madder and madder... I am not threatening anyone.. if you recall it was you wrote this:

I'll show you bullying Charles, so you can identify with it firsthand, and know what it is
Hmm, seems you are the one threatening... no??
Also, maybe you should work on your MG, you have been spending an aweful lot of time on this forum.
I dont know of anyone on this forum that has anything political as an avatar.. Certainly mine is not poilitical, it is in fact modeled after a professional athelete, a NFL QB who plays for the Denver Broncos... last I checked he was not serving in public office.
As for breaking the rules.. well Hap, calling people idiots is certainly against the rules, so yes, you need to try harder.
See here:
Be nice to each other and respect the moderator. The occasional heated debate is fine, but profanity, racism and personal attacks will not be tolerated.
Also Hap... the 1 thread I started... the 1, the ONE and only thread I started... guess what?

I see that possibility, an increase in rear-end accidents as lights change and people slam on the brakes.
As a motorcyclist, I'm extremely wary of all intersections, as that's where a lot of my fellow riders lose their lives.
Every place is unique, here in Vancouver we don't have very many left-turn signals, so in general when the light turns yellow that's the signal for 1 or 2 cars to turn left. Anyone trying to beat the red risks getting T-boned. YMMV

Yes, you guess correctly... SKYE contributed too!!!!!!!!
So if he would have even sniffed that I was politically trolling.. he would have shut down the thread, dont you think Hap?
I am not going anywhere.. I didnt break any rules.. my post about traffic cameras, the owner of this site posted in.
So Hap, Wyatt told you yesterday you were having a bad day, today you are having a bad day... if you want to continue this until tomorrow I promise you a hat trick...
Have a blessed day,
Charles
Hap:
Do you have any opinions of your own? Other that all the scum needs to be kicked off"
You haven't contributed any input to any threads about red light cameras or Whitney's death but you hijacked this thread and posted your little poll. What I don't understand about blue nosed people like you is why you can't just mind your own damn business.
Hap the hits keep on coming... Man you are a hypocrite are you not?

To be honest with you, I've been waiting for my HC premiums to sky rocket, but so far it has not happen, but it won't shock me if it does, that's way insurance works, they have no problem taking your premium for decades when you have no claims, then try to fiquire out how to get rid of you once you do need it, oh yeah we have a great system . We'll never be as lucky as our Canadian friend to get such a system, which is way btter than US politicians want you to think it is, too many lawmaker on all sides too busy lining their pockets with lobbiest money for us to ever get a fair shake.
Oh, and remember Ron Paul is only one running for president not taking the money, the only one.
political much Hap???????????????????????????????
quit your damn complaining... you post a clearly political post and cry about others. Maybe you should consider kicking yourself off the forum...
Politics banned until further notice

Charles ,thanks for pointing out Haps hypocrisy I don't have the time or desire to search over his posts and see what he has said in the past. Maybe if I ran a business I would have more free time:devil:
You are most welcome Howard..... funny the man whines about political posts and he posts. well... lets see, how would I categorize it... an endorsement for Ron Paul... who is running for the top POLITICAL office in the land..
Well yes.. its clearly political in nature and against the rules Hap wants to enforce.......

Charles, time changes things and Skye does run a tighter ship these days, has made woderfdul cahnges and upgrades, and he now does get my money, more so than any other advertiser here, short of Moss. Skye and I have made our peace, nothing you quote here will change that. Bring it on Charles, I can handle anything you have to throw at me, on the web, or in person.
Hap.. the gift that keeps on giving...
Hah!! That would be good for business to see the owner duking it out with a guy in the shop!
I would make a hasty retreat with my money
"Tebrew" I stand by that statement, but it wasn't a threat, so don't make it one.
You don't get it do you "Tebrew", I don't claim innocence in all this I'm as guilty as the next guy when it comes to politics and religion subject content, it bring out the worse in me, as it does others.
Ok, enough of the dog and poney show for now, time to go do "grown up" stuff, you kids be good :D
and that ladies and gentlemen is the end of tonights broadcast...
Not just yet :D, Charles, got your PM, and thank you, that was very civil message, and you're right we probably think more alike than we know. I do still feel these sorts of subjects brings out the worse in alot of us, and would be better never brought here, but with that being said, for my part in all this I apologize to Charles, Howard, Joe, and anyone else that I ruffled their feathers.
This is a much better outcome than the thread being shut down by Skye, and then the temptation for someone to start yet another thread to continue some kind of perceived battle.
:)-D
