I've been reading about how World Wide Auto Parts modifies original Armstrong lever action shocks. They upgrade them with Delrin bearing material, stainless steel sleeves, and high quality seals, plus reworking the internals so they perform "better than new". As a result, they claim the shocks will no longer "seep oil" as original and will no longer require "topping up" maintenance, improved ride quality, etc.. Sounds good to me. Does anyone have experience with this company and this product? Thanks.

Another satisfied customer. Even after I abused the shocks vintage racing, they repaired one that showed some seepage for no additional charge.

I purchased my rebuilt shocks from World Wide for my MGB in the 1985.

79,000 miles later, they still work great.

Several points:

Our local weather on the Central Coast of California is very mild: 55 to 65 Deg F, much of the year.

We are very close to the cool Pacific Ocean.

My MGB has always been in the garage every night; and, for very many years, that was my car to drive to work on Vandenberg AFB, CA, some 15 miles from my residence.

I had shocks refurbished by World Wide some time in the late 80's. Later that year we took the MGB down to California to visit relatives. While down there, one of the shocks started leaking. I called Peter and asked how I should proceed - His answer was "there will be a new shock when you return home, just send the leaker to me at that time." I have since had several other shocks restored by them and will never go anywhere else for the work.
Cheers,

I had one leak on my A and called Peter and asked about the warranty . He said it had a lifetime warranty and he was still alive so they would take cars of it.

You have original Armstrong shocks that have never been reworked and they have never leaked? Very fortunate, indeed, as they were designed to "weep" in order to lubricate the arm pivot.
