Are 72 spoke wheels any better to have on a B or 60 ? Would you consider them cost effective? Anyone ever switched and noticed a difference in anything other than more time needed to clean them? What were factory and why/if they were offered?

My guess would be that they will make no difference (apart from a small increase in unsprung weight and much longer cleaning time). I don't think the standard MGB power output requires the additional robustness of a 72-spoke wheel.

I agree that 72 spokes on a 14" wheel looks busy. If you go with a 15" wheel then I think the 72 spoke looks fine.

60 spoke was stock. 72 would be for "spirited" driving applications. Personally I think the 72 spoke wheels look too busy...too many spokes or something.
