In the process of restoring the windshield on my MGB. Looking for recommendations for gaskets and seals. Positive comments for McGregor but they are a bit more expensive. I know you get what you pay for but are McGregor's products worth the extra compared to the other vendors?

Assuming you might want to drive your British car over very many years, I encourage you to add Zero Deductible Comprehensive Insurance on your car.

I have used State Farm since I had a 1929 Model A Ford in 1955.

Comprehensive Insurance covers fire, theft, and broken glass.

I have had to change my 1977 MGB windshield four (4) times since 1983, over 79,000 miles.

All I do is go the local auto glass shop, show them my insurance, and they order up the windshield and call me when it is available to be installed.

My out of pocket costs have been zero.

I'd put it this way: if I had the option of buying from MacGregor versus the usual suspects I'd go with the former but his business model is not conducive to some overseas buyers. You only need to read here all the topics about crap rubber. I've not read a report on crap from MacGregor (either all who use him are happy or don't want to say unhappy lest they get howled down). For the rest of us who can't use him we wait with baited breath to (a) see if what we bought fits or (b) someone adds a seller of the seals equal to what MacGregor purportedly sells. You said it yourself - " I know you get what you pay for but are McGregor's products worth the extra compared to the other vendors".
