I have been looking at some rotisseries for my 74 B. This was made for a Midget but I'm thinking it might work on my car, possibly with a couple of modifications. It uses the rear bumper fitting and the front grille. Im sure it will need some modification but its pretty cheap to start with.
Cheap rotisserie / spit

Thanks
Gene

I bought a used rotisserie when I did a frame off restoration of an Austin Somerset Coupe. It was a remarkably useful tool, and when I took the body to the painter, I took it on the rotisserie and brought it back home the same way. When I was done, I sold it for approximately what I had paid, since there is always someone like you and me who needs such a tool for a while and then needs the space for other work later on.

A good one has the ability to be adjusted to get the balance required to be able to swing the body around without difficulty. That can mean up and down at either end and even from side to side. Mine had manually operated hydraulic cylinders to assist in adjustment, and also wheels to make it possible to relocate it in the shop. The two ends were connected to make it a single unit. Although your car might be made to fit on this home made one, making the necessary adjustments could require a lot of work which a good universal design would make relatively simple.

In other words, cheap is not a very good criteria for either tools or parts when working on any worthwhile project.

The one I build used square tubing attached to the square frame rails that run up to the radiator duct assembly (flat panel in front of radiator. I attached with bolts used to mount the front bumper. I also attached a couple of hand winches, one at each end, to make it easier to raise and lower the monocoque as needed. I can send a picture if you like.
