They may be small, but they have just as many parts (only smaller)

Because I did not take it apart, every single component was FUBAR, and I want it to go back together right!

Time, energy, motive, and finally money just do not come together at the same time as often as I like. That seems to sum up my delays.

I believe in my case that it was the "while I have it apart, I might as well..." syndrome. What started as a simple gearbox replacement ended up as a 20+ year teardown and rebuild of the whole car!:)

Because I've been busy growing my own helpers.
The big one is 10 now, so my excuses are running out.

What do ya think? Ready by the end of spring? This spring, and not by Chip Foose's crew, I don't want a 2-tone paint job and 18" rims...

The great weather we've had this winter is killing my progress. The project for last Saturday was to remove the front shocks, but the weather was sunny and 65F, so I drove the car instead.

It's hard to work on it when you never take it out of commission.

i started my complete tear down restoration back in 1999 and am 3 weekends away from driving it, lol

It's the work accomplished vs beer drinking ratio.

I bought the LBC. And it sat for several years as I contemplated what I was going to do.
I bought parts. And they sat for several years as I contemplated how I was going to do it.
I put the LBC on jack stands. And contemplated several years on where to start.
I started working on the LBC and contemplated on the real tools I needed to actually work on it.
I ordered a tool catalog........

The 72 Project ...

I contemplate....oh wait .... procrastinate.... :)

The putting it together didn't take long. In fact, once I got all the pieces in one place ready to assemble, it went from a bare shell to a complete car in 4 (very long) days, with help from a couple of friends. However, once fully assembled I had some dramas, and it was another month before it hit the road (only had weekends to work on it, engine and gearbox came back out 3 times)! And as for the time taken before that point... well, 2 years prior I pulled out the engine and box to do a quick gearbox conversion. I'd bought the car a month before that, intending not to do anything with it but drive it as I already had a long term project in the shed. Ended up taking 2 years and resulted in a complete rebuild including colour change respray!

Thats what I'm doing. Gathering parts. When I think I've got all of them, hope theres no turning back.

Then maybe you should restore a T-series car or a Morgan :)
