1973 MGB - new wiiring harness
Short stub of a heavier gauge white / black wire coming out of the main harness in the engine bay corner, I cannot figure out what attaches to it. I know that color combo is tach/coil, but am lost on this one connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

White/black typically runs from coil - to the dizzy...

He is talking about this wire that terminates right near the radiator panel to the far left in this photo

I intended to place a thread asking about it and the other wires you can see that come out there together in a mini spur of the wiring harness in the photo.

A magnifying glass and the Bentley wiring diagram showed white black for a GT rear window defroster, sure enough I found the other end at the console using my multi-meter . So it's a dead circuit on a roadster, or I could use it for somethign else.

My multimeter says it is continuous with the white/black tach wire.

David, if it is right by the jumble of snap connectors it's the wire that feeds the rear window heater on the GT. The main harnesses for the roadster and GT are the same, that wire is in the 73 harness. It goes from the engine room into the console where it would be fed from a switch for the rear window heater. The rear harness, that runs from the jumble of snaps to the back of the car, has the mate to that wire.
