I can not for the life of me figure out where this damn hose goes. It's off the anti-run on switch?

Help.and please dumb down your answer. I am not techy.

I am sure someone will be along shortly that will be able to answeryour question........but I always begin my hose routing questions with the Moss emissions page. Has helped me many times with the guesses the PO of my car made concerning hose routing.

If you are talking about the cylindrical part with two hoses next to the brake booster, that's the rollover valve. It is supposed to cut of the flow of fuel if you flip the car. It was connected between the filter and carb. But most leak by now and have been removed.

Here is a video that explains

Does the car run fine? You might run the engine, then plug the end of that hose and see if the engine note changes. I'm guessing it won't since that hose appears not to be in use. If not, you don't need the hose. If it were a vacumn hose, the engine would stumble or the revs would increase if you unplugged or plugged it since you'd be adding air to the engine/carb by pulling the hose off or stopping the inflow of air by plugging it up. You'd hear the engine sound change noticeably.

Looks like you do have a fuel line (with the clear fuel filter) running to your Weber carb, and if the car runs fine, you obviously have a fuel line! Maybe somebody bypassed the old and probably leaking 'rollover valve' (it's the upright cylinder the other end of the hose is attached to) but left a fuel hose attached to it. Not sure why, though. The rollover valve was designed to shut off the flow of fuel if the car ever flipped over. By now, they all leak so you don't want to use it.

I am not familiar with later MGB's or Weber carbs, so I'm happy to be corrected on all this. Maybe it's an accelerometer super high gas mileage hose option which sucks in fresh air and gives you 50 mpg?

If that hose runs off the small tube on the ARO valve, then it is of no use with the Weber as far as i know. It is designed to vent the float bowls when the ignition is turned off to stop fuel flow and dieseling. My old Weber did not have any such connection for this sort of thing.

I don't see the anti run on valve in you picture, just one of the three hoses. The ARO valve is on a bracket in front of the windshield wiper fluid bottle in front of the carbon canisters on the right side. It has two electrical connections and three hoses. The rollover valve has two hose connections, no electrical and is on the left (drivers).

It seems to me, from what I can see from your photo, that the hose in question is going to and coming from the inertia switch or roll over switch, not the ARV. My advice disconnect hosing and get rid of switch.
