What the title says... when I took mine apart, the mesh just fell off.
I understand there is a sponge seal that goes around it, but is it only this seal holding it in place against the box surface or was it glued to the box opening somehow and the glue just disintegrated?

Bring this detailed Heater Assembly file up:

Please note there is no "mesh" on the heater core.

Ahmed,
I first glued the mesh to the foam, (contact adhesive) this helps to keep the foam round.
Then I glued the mesh/foam assembly to the heater box, in its correct location. Still there after many years. In fact when it is in place there is little space for it to go anywhere anyway.

Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others?"

When I changed mine the old one had the mesh held in place with some form of sealer / glue. I fitted the mesh to the new one with a bead of black silicone. With the foam glued to the mesh

Roger, Moss US does not always identify all parts, especially if they are NCA. If you check the Moss Europe catalog you will see the wire mesh piece as part number 27H8831. If you Google that part number you will see images of the part. If one has lost theirs it will not take a "rocket scientist" to make one.

X2 on the silicone. I just put a dab in a couple of spots, used a bit on the foam ring and let it dry. Once it's bolted in, it isn't going anywhere!
