BIG Nascar race at Sears Point will create bumper to bumper stop and go traffic on routes leading to Sears Point (Sonoma Raceway) starting Friday thru Sunday. Avoid Hwy 37 at Vallejo exit!! Coming south down Hwy 101, avoid Hwy 12 and 116 exits. Richmond Bridge exit West off I-80 is probably doable as is treking on into SF and then follow signs to GG bridge. (Napa Valley should be relatively clear howevercool smiley and GG should be viewable more easily on a return from MG2017.) Monterey peninsula only approx. another three hours or so from Napa...!

We drove Hwy 37 westbound Hwy to southbound Hwy 101 this morning and were at Sonoma Raceway around 9:30am; it looked busy in the area but too early for any congestion.
OTOH, California 1 around Santa Cruz and Capitola was a parking lot; a bit too bad because we were hoping to catch a few more 'woodies' who were arriving for Saturday's show. The few woodies we saw were really beautiful.
