I know this isn't the buy/sell forum but there is nothing currently listed there so thought I would take a quick shot here. Looking for +20, 30, or 40 as after honing out my block the standard pistons I have are to small. Will trade my standards or buy, which ever works. The block is at the machine shop being bored and I need the pistons before it comes home for final fitting. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Larry

Fancy or cheap? I got cheap at VB 3 years ago 20 over, if I had known better i would have talked to Hap. So far my cheap, ones are doing fine. Machine shop needs them before boring engine.

Actually I talked to my machinist and according to him, all he needs to know is the size and he will bore the block and then he needs the pistons to do the final sizing which he will do by honing. I was giving a member first shot at selling some if they wanted but if no one is interested I will buy from VB, Moss, Hap or Australia!

i don't understand why this post is necessary? they are a standard catalog item at all the major parts sources. Just buy them and save space on the forum for actual questions. http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=76626#20

Sorry, didn't know that this was a question only forum. I thought it was a forum so that we midget owners could help each other. If you want, I'll remove this post. Of course, if someone has a set of pistons sitting around that they don't want, or need and don't know how to dispose of them they will just be out of luck.

Apparently making jokes and comments is acceptable, but actually trying to be helpful isn't.

Don't worry about it Larry. The self-appointed list police need to read ALL of the messages in a thread before commenting. You made it very clear that you were posting here so that if a fellow forum member had a set of pistons they wanted to sell you would help them out and if not you would buy pistons from the very same MOSS or VB that the list police were so kind to direct you to. Don't worry about "saving space" for questions. grinning smiley

I bet there's a bunch of assorted new parts that never got installed in the last 30 years just waiting for someone to need them. I'll take the Irish coffee!

know what? I am sincere in my apology for my tone, I should not have been harsh or condescending. And yes, maybe I am the self-appointed forum police in this instance, but there is a place to for buy/sell/trade threads. It's the buy/sell/trade forum. This post is not in the right place and that's not something that I made up out of thin air. Larry began his post by acknowledging it is in the wrong place. He also posted an identical post in buy/sell/trade which makes this unnecessary for 2 reasons, for being off topic and for being redundant. This forum is for questions and discussions. I do wish Larry success and again I am sorry for my tone, but I'm also right and pathologically incapable of denying that.

OK guys, we are all friends here and I understand both sides. I've been guilty of asking for items on this side of the forum and I've made some remarks I'd like to take back. That said, lets try to help Larry since he reached out to his friends and not give Chris any crap...both are great contributors to this forum and were better than that.

Apology Accepted.

I also apologize for using this forum for this listing. I have lots of parts that are sitting around, that I don't think about selling, but there have been several times that someone mentioned they were looking for one, having trouble finding one, and I was able to help. In fact, the block that is at the machine shop at this time was found because of someone here that heard I was looking because I mentioned the difficulty I was having locating a 1275 short block. I would still be looking if he hadn't been helpful and pointed me to a recycle yard that he thought had one. I had done a search on the Buy/sell forum and the only return was for standards, and the listing was 2 months old. My hope was that someone would read this, have what I needed, and be able to help. I will place the order for new pistons thru one of the vendors.

Again, sorry it got to this point
Larry
