As if it isn't scary enough, I love the speedometer staring the passenger in the face. Even better if it is from an MGB and reading 30-40% higher!

Well spotted John!
Not sure that's the first thing I'd do though.
I have an Ash green car to restore and have yet to convince myself to keep the colour original. I know I can convince myself it looks great, but in an "I am the only one in the marching regiment who is in step" kind of way...

My car was restored as a birthday present to my wife, so she got to pick the color. I campaigned relentlessly to keep the car it's original Glacier Blue, but in the end she held out for a non-MG red.
Later, she relented and now wishes she had let me paint it Glacier Blue. I did manage to restrain the fist of death.
I love to see these cars in their original livery and if I ever restore another, it definitely will be painted however it came from the factory.
Do you know why the British don't make computers? They can't figure out how to make them leak oil!

Just google the images of Ash Green MGAs - it's a good 1950s racing colour, worn by some few stylish, collectible and racing MGAs.
There isn't an original MGA colour I don't like... except the jury is still out on Alamo Beige: it's a very long time since I last saw one.

"Even better if it is from an MGB and reading 30-40% higher! "
Do MGB speedometers really need re-calibration to work in a MGA? Somehow I always though/was very much hoping that they were a simple swap-in and done as I don't have an original MGA speedo and have several of those from MGBs.
Wondering, worried.
Thanks,
TC

TC, be worried, be very worried!
John, I have been looking at pictures of Ash green cars since I bought this one five years ago.
I put these together for another earlier thread and I almost convinced myself...
