I would be very grateful to anyone who could post a diagram/schematic for a Smiths RVC 1410/00 Tach. Hopefully it would show the values of the components on the circuit board. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

The attached circuit is for an RVC, but may not be 100% right for a 1410.

Herb, would you happen to know where I could get a replacement IC for the RVI tach we were talking about? The number on the chip I have is the same as the diagram with an addtional number (7223). It had a number on the bottom which is (810P). I ran the numbers in every way I could on the internet. Thanks!

Kevin

Sorry Kevin, that chip is unobtainium.

I think that it was a custom chip, made specifically for Smiths.

Dang! I expected your answer to be as such. I'll contact a friend of mine who designs circuits and ask him to modernize the chip/circuit and/or some components. Thanks for your help.

I've researched the options, and found a LM2907, frequency to voltage converter chip. The data sheet includes circuits for tachos.

Maybe buy a used unit to recover the circuit board / chip.
