Hi all, I filled the system with coolant and a steady dribble flowed out of the heater valve. I had replaced the seal between the halves and used gasket maker as insurance. I've read in other posts that there's an o-ring somewhere but I can't find it and am not sure how to remove the rotating shaft that forms the valve. Any tips? How to I get this thing apart to reseal it?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

LOL - reviewing my pics I could see the circle of gasket maker covering the screw that allows me to remove the shaft. Doh!
One question remains - VB says I need two of the gaskets that go between the halves. Why 2?

Because if you look at the Moss site it shows the mounting bracket goes between the two pieces of the heater valve. Not sure if that is right or not but since most suppliers buy their stock from Moss they tend to follow what Moss says about how many are needed.

I have rebuilt a couple of these and usually just use one gasket between the valve and the flange pipe. You'll want to find a size 014 O-ring as a replacement. I put a little grease on it to help seal and wear longer. I usually use Mercruzer outdrive grease, but plumber grease should work also. If you dropped into a marine/boat repair shop i'm sure they would give you a dab for the O-ring.
