I ordered a plastic glove box replacement for my '66. Got it in the hole without much issue, but I'm finding it impossible to get it positioned to put the screws in. It seems like no matter how I push, pull, or pry, the bottom doesn't line up with the screw holes, it's off by a matter of millimeters (it needs to go further in and towards the passenger door a bit).
Anyone who's replaced one of these have any tips to share?

I'll bite -
I reassembled my '72 roadster, so all the original parts fit pretty well, including the glove box. I think, if I had an issue like yours I would consider cutting new holes that line-up, and use larger diameter screws to take up the difference.
