Alright, so the stock rostyle rims on my '71 are so bent that they can't be properly balanced anymore. (3 shops have tried...) I'm looking into getting some new aftermarket wheels, and the only 2 styles I've found are the minilite 8 spoke and the VTO retro 4 wheels. I don't mind the dark grey/black minilites, but I'm looking for other suggestions. Does anyone know of any other wheels that are available? I run the stock 155/80/13 tires on my car, so I'd like the rims to be as narrow as stock (which I believe is 4.5"?), with a stock offset.

Thanks for your help!

The VTO's come with nice polished rims. Either Grey or Black Centers. I will be putting those on Bugsy II when the time comes along with likely a 175/70. Can't decide on 13" or 14" wheels. But that's a decision for the future/.

Well if you decide on VTO wheels, we'll be having a Christmas sale starting Dec. 8th, I'm still waiting on the details of the sale. I'll announce the details on the Vendors forum when I get them. On the SWA Midget, which are somewhat of a difficult fitment, our 13x5.5 +19mm ofset wheel works fine with 155, 165 tire. The early 60s SWA car is the toughest fitment, it won't take more than a 155tire with stock rear fender, as the car got into the 70, the ride height rose, and it made putting on slightly wider tire possible.

It is also possible to unbend them. You might want to call around and see who does that in your area. Where I'm at I paid $125 per.

If you do go that route, do make sure that they use a heating in addition to the bending machine. The heating makes it less likely that the "memory" will make the rims return to the bent position. Some shops skip that step.

That said, no doubt new rims are spiffy and blingy. Pay attention to Hap's comments on fit.

I had a shop try to straighten them once. It didn't do much good. I like the look of the stock rims, but the driving season is so short up here, I want something that I can put on and not worry about.

That's Terry, he's a good guy, and a friend of mine, I am a dealer for his wheels. He has not had those wheels for a very long time now, in fact he has also sold out of the RSM 8 spoke style he had as well, and only carried them in the 15x5.5. size for a couple years now, and has no intention of restocking them. His spa part business is far exceeding his wheel business, so he is more concentrating on that. Like a lot of 13" wheels for Spridgets and Spitfires, it didn't sell very well. I think that wheel is still available as import out of the UK, but I don't suspect it has sold very well world wide, so it is not long for this world.
