Two years ago after putting it in the frame it was started. FF to a week ago made sure I had a good charge on the battery, checked the timing by putting it on TDC and aligned the distributor, filled with coolant, put 2 gallons of fuel in, primed the pump, let the float bowls fill till the pump cut off pulled out the choke, turned on the key, and pulled the starter. If that's what you call "rehearsed " then okay, I tend to lean toward luck, good prepeation and workmanship. ✌

Why would someone call that a rehearsal? My car starts like that all the time, if it's warm, you can't get your hands off the starter fast enough. I agree with Doug, if everything is set as it should be then they'll start right up and run. Nice work Doug. PJ

Please note, there was a question mark at the end of my question. I noticed that there was no immediate check for oil pressure, but I guess it was established earlier by cranking that all was going to be OK. Congratulations on getting it all correct. My TF starts that way every time too, but I have had to adjust a few things to make it that way. When I first got it there was insufficient choke travel , solving that went a long way to making life easier.
