Hooked up the hard line from clutch master to the rubber line going to slave today and had a leak at the fitting going into the master cylinder. Looks like at some point in the past prior owner over torqued the fitting and distorted the line. The line came out of a 74' Midget donor car along with the double master cylinders, 1275 engine, gearbox and rear end that I have moved to my 63' Sprite in my restoration project of the Sprite. Can 't find a line with the correct fittings to replace the defective hard line locally so I 'm curious if anyone knows of a source for a flexible braided replacement line. Looks like the oem line is 1/4" (that I can find locally) just can 't find one with the correct fittings. Thanks -

If it came out of a later car you need the line the Moss sells that goes from MC to the double union that attaches someplace on or close to the frame rail. I ran into that same issue on my '68 that used a Smoothcase and 1098 combination along with a later skave and later MC. I could not find that fitting anywhere. You need that piece to make the transition. See what the other solutions are to your problem.

I used two 4 AN Steel Male to Male adapters. One off the Slave clyinder and one off the Master cylinder. You can get a 48" 4AN braided brake line. You can go up to Hank Thomas Speed Shop in Winston-Salem to get it. If you can take off your slave cylinder and take it with you. That way you make sure everything is correct. I like to extend my hose to 60" especially when pulling the engine. You can take a 3 AN Male line with a 24" braided line and connect it to your bleeder side. You might be able to use the stock bleeder but you can get bleeders for the braided line. This gives you a remote bleeder and you don't have to bend in the footwell to bleed the slave cylinder.
