I was troubleshooting my windshield washer electricals so I dug into the steering column to check things out. Seems the stalk switch is bad so I ordered a new one. I was reassembling the steering column cover and could not find the screws that hold the two plastic sides together. Looked everywhere. Got mad, took a break, came back and looked some more. 45 minutes later, I was ready to give up so I started putting stuff away. I thought the LE had eaten the screws. When I went to plug in my LED shop light to recharge it, I found my screws. Stuck to the magnet on the base of the light. Ugh. Now I remember why I enjoy working on cars.

I have enjoyed fixing bits on the LE. I have had a couple of dejavue moments. Came home from a short trip and the left rear marker light cover had fallen off. Was making a turn on another short trip and the K&N air cleaner cover was rolling down the street. One night all the marker lights stopped working. Another night the fuel gauge and turn signals stopped working. All loose connection issues that were easily troubleshot and fixed. This car definitely has the personality of a teenager. That is what I remember about my LE from 30 years ago. Always something to futz with.

Now back to your regularly scheduled fun.

Tom

This car is now very nearly completely done. Sure to find something else, but not now.........And 12 years later, I'm starting to fix things that were new when we built the car. It's pretty well de-bugged!
