Hi, thanks for the responses to my query for the splash panel extension. Here's my next issue:
The mounting stud for the shoulder seatbelt strap sits too proud of the body surface as shown in the first photo, below. The second photo shows the exploded parts as they were stored in a baggie, 15 years ago. In order, they are: stud, plastic lock tab, spring washer, spacer, fabric washer, o-ring, lock washer and nut. The spacer has 2 outside diameters and the smaller end just fits inside the car's body but it also fits into the spring washer, so I don't know which end is up.
I would have thought the whole unit would sit relatively flush with the car body. Any thoughts or comments, please?
Thanks,

The stepped spacer is installed small end up. That allows you to torque the unit down and still have free movement of the belt connection and the rubber "PRESS" button to float on the top of the spacer.

So thats what thats for ) I am not too proud to admit that I am not the most knowledgeable person about everything MG's, but every little bit helps. Does anyone out there have a pic of the mounting stud with the shoulder strap attached to it? THANKS

I got tired of having to remove the seat belt anytime I wanted to raise or lower the top and mounted mine to the top of the wheel well with a heavy backer plate. I made sure it was low enough not to interfere with the folded top, but high enough not to break my shoulder in case of a wreck.
