Anyone know where I can get four 1/2" 7/16-20 set screws for air pump holes at a regular parts house? I can find them online but the shipping is around $8 for 4 screws.

Try a really good local hardware store. Stop at Grainger and see if they stock locally.

I have to do the same thing, contemplating threading bolt in an cutting it off flush. I have the plugs in my other head.

Thanks for the information. I went to Grainger today, only problem was deciding if I wanted a box of 50 or 100!

Speaking of flush,

If you put in regular bolts, with a liberal dose of the loc-tite that is essentially permanent (forgot which one that is, red?), then cut them off flush, then after you paint the head it looks like the casting was never drilled. I think it is the cleanest of all, looks-wise!

I can get them individually here, PM me if you'd like me to mail you some. They're like $2.50 a piece, and I'll eat the cost of stamps smiling smiley

In reply to # 2838690 by Jmarlow I use Allen head screws they go in flush !

I got the ones custom-made for all MG's with the air pump log, like you, with allen head. I don't think the price was outrageous and I'm a cheap ol' chap. My first Midget had the bolts cut off and dope PO painted the engine with them sticking out 3/4 of an inch.

Thanks for all the help. I found them at an electric motor rebuild factory and they fit perfectly
