Have some good and bad service, and a mix-- asking ten times for something specific, and somehow it is forgotten.
OK, rant of the day--
I know someone here must have tried removing the stop from the seat track to give a few more leg room inches.
Can you simply and easily, ;-), chop it off while it is still installed?
Doc wants me to replace one knee and the other had all four quads reattached, plus, I do not want to nick the paint getting in or out.
If I get the knee(s) done, I certainly will not be driving, and if I can't bend them to get in, the car will become an ornament ?
Thanks in advance,
Regards, John

I found the thread I had seen in the Library, so it comes down to-- do the stops on the inside edge of the tracks on my 70B attach with a bolt?
Yeah, I can't kneel any more after surgery, I jacked up my car to seat height to do the rear brakes-- I have some good jack stands, may end up with a similar approach on these?
Thanks,
John

Apparently, over the years, MG used a few different methods as a stop. both my cars (71 and 78) have a bent tab on one rail as a stop, removable only with a hack saw. Apparently some have a separate bolted on part, and some just a spacer on a longer bolt. Perhaps the variations are not all factory issue.

Thanks, I believe I see some blunt force in the car's future.
I just had the seats recovered, and afraid the guy forgot the half dozen times I asked him to remove this, it seems to be kind of square, may be a tab?
If I get it out, will try to post photos, seems a driving issue for the forum. ;-)

Take them out! Then the next time you need to remove the seat, it will slide forward and backwards far enough to totally make the bolts a snap to install/remove.
Love that. And the seats can't really go anywhere.
Anytime I have a seat out, that stop is toast.

This car is now very nearly completely done. Sure to find something else, but not now.........And 12 years later, I'm starting to fix things that were new when we built the car. It's pretty well de-bugged!

Thanks, I asked several people who were taking the seats out for renewal, and some body work-- reminds me of my last teaching days in the local HS, never knew who was listening. ;-)
My bad knee will appreciate this for sure. I may have to have a cane clip attached, or finally get at least one replaced?

This is not difficult.
Here is a photo of the seat track with longer bolt and seat stop on the track.
This stop is secured with a number 10 machine screw, a 3/8" wrench for the nut. It is on outside seat track adjacent to the sill . Very accessible and easy to remove the stop.
