Both my belts are pulled all the way out and no way they will return.

I took the cover off the units and both have the same issue. The plastic bit attached to the cover that the coil attaches to is broken off.
Is this cover available or does someone have a couple? Failing that, does anyone have complete units?

Thanks

Moss has brand new ones, which, if you "Value your life and your family members" is the only way to fix your immediate problems.

Our Dad (I have a twin brother) bought 1956 Ford seat belts for our 1929 Model A Ford Sports Coupe in the Fall of 1955.

Every car, to this day, that I and my family have driven have seat belts in good condition.

Thanks.
I'm hoping to find the replacement cover or replacement complete set of the same type....the moss ones are different

Even if you can find a pair of originals that aren't broken, there is a good chance they'll also break. 40+ year old plastic tends to be a little brittle. I imagine that plastic bit would be put under quite a bit of stress in an accident where you and your passenger are thrown forward. If it broke your shoulder harness would be useless...

I understand the desire to keep everything as original as possible, but safety is more important than originality.

Understood.

The plastic has nothing to do with the restraining....that is on the other side of the mechanism
