I have been looking forever for a hard top for Jake's MGB, and a member of my club just sold his car to a gentleman in Florida who didn't want the hard top. My son was ecstatic (it's going on his '73 MGB). smileys with beer

Looks good. Ever spent any time driving a B with a hard top? How tall is your son? I'm 6'. I hit my head ever time I get in and out and have to crouch down to be able to see through the windshield when I had the top on. Wasn't at all what I expected things to be like.

I agree with Gerry here. I've got the same snug top on my 73 and it is a little claustrophobic. But they are good for keeping the weather out. I trailered my B through some substantial downpours last summer and it stayed quite dry.

That's a Snugtop, the same as what I had. Issue was not headroom inside the cab but being able to get in and out without hitting my head and/or being able to see ahead below the top of the windshield. Never once did I get in that I did not hit my head just above my right ear trying to get in. Seat back angle has nothing to do with this. Issue is much the same with the ragtop up but the ragtop does not hurt as much to hit

Has anyone found a good source for the rubber seals for the rear of the approved hard top? I found the front seal but have had no luck with the rear. Also, I am looking for the side metal attachment brackets. I could possibly fabricate a couple but I would rather have the correct ones to install my top with. Thanks for any help.

Congradulation David, you will enjoy your new top!

Jim

I have this top on my 75, but mine has a small MG logo just behind the window, where this picture shows some other logo.

McGregor in Canada sells the weatherstripping for the Snugtop. Think Smoothtop still sells stuff for their top. Moss and/or VB may sell parts for the factory style tops

Davids picture has a MG octagon logo, it just is hard to make out. I did not know what it was until you suggested a MG logo and then it looked right;o)

Geez, I've had one for sale for several months now, and had one single nibble.

I must be doing something wrong!

This car is now very nearly completely done. Sure to find something else, but not now.........And 12 years later, I'm starting to fix things that were new when we built the car. It's pretty well de-bugged!

The Roadster Factory has them for the factory top.

hard top makes the interior noise 2-3X worse. Gearbox sounds like it is going to explode any minute.<G>

If you were on the east coast I'd be fish on. I've been search for one locally in decent shape for a couple months, everything I come across is crap and over priced.
