I've been away for 3 weeks and the kit arrived while I was away. I have to source some parts locally and have hit a minor snag.
Two main parts Hyundai Sonata Rear discs? No problem, easy replacement part about $80 Aus.
Festiva Front Calipers? Not so much. Too early, not available (except for OEM) new. So 2nd hand. Problem is in Aus wreckers tend not to keep cars (or parts for that matter) for run-o-the-mill older cars. However, the suggestion is that that particular Caliper was/is used in a whole lot of other vehicles. From Kia rios to Mazda 121s.
Part numbers I got with the kit don't translate into 'Aussie'. So I'm going to have to rely on 'over the counter' visual comparisons.
Before I get too deep, my question is to the collective. Has anyone done this that can give me some specs or simply photos of the business parts of these callipers.

Thanks for the offer, Rob. I'm not at that point yet. I'm pretty sure I can get them here, I just want to check that I'm using the correct ones. The photo that comes with the kit is the same as what's on Scarebirds web site but it doesn't show the business side of the calliper.
I looks like one I've seen from a Mazda 121 (the Bubble car) but to be sure I need to see the number and size of the piston.

LOL!
Guess what! The pic I linked to above is on Photobucket. A series of 3 pics from Scarebird in a album called MGB. 2 of the pics came on a sheet with the kit.
This one wasn't included. WTF! It's the one I'm after.
I think I just solved my issue!
Major blunder IMO from Scarebird - especially when I emailed them and the said they couldn't help me!

Check first
That might be the original mgb disc conversion that Marc supplied.
It's been superseded since with the new kit.
If I run into him at one of our Friday night car shows while I'm on the mainland I'll ask him.

The Ford Festiva sold in the US market was 100% based on the 1987-1991 Kia Pride. As a matter of fact the Ford Festiva was built by Kia. Mazda also sold this model as the 121 from 1989 to 1993 but not in the US market.

This is one of those times when the Internet shines.
Dans post above gave me just that little bit of information that allowed me to find this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Festiva#Kia_Pride
Which gives me enough information to be pretty confident that I'll be able to get the callipers I need.
All good! I'll get back to you all.
BTW Rob, thanks again. I appreciate the support you've given me from the start.

Will you need to inform the rego dept about the change? Insurance company will need to know...and will probably use the opportunity to raise the bill, even if it makes the brakes more effective.
Let us know the parts you use locally for future reference.

"Will you need to inform the rego dept about the change?"
Interesting comment. I suspect I'd need a Blue plate (engineer's certification) so I'd be checking first with an engineer or DoT HQ as the local rego offices aren't equiped to answer those types of questions. FWIW whilst I'm not necessarily contemplating following in Sweep's footsteps I am interested in his adventures. I visited an engineer the other day to check that it was ok to run two brake m/cs on my GT - it is but I'll need a Blue plate.
Mk1: CKD 11/66 first registered 8/5/67; owned since 3/77. 18GB +40 balanced. Peter Burgess BVFR head. Piper 285. 123. FidanzaFW. 4synch c/r box. Lots more as I did a nut and bolt rebuild; finished 2015. Tartan Red.
GT: December '78. VW Golf guards, flush fit front and rear valances. Torana XU1 vents, frenched indicators & Mk1 rear lights. 'Worked' Rover V8 with Monsoon ECU for EFI. GM4L60E, Lokar tiptronic & Quick4 controller. Vintage Air A/C. FC IFS. CCE 4 link rear. Salisbury with Quaife. Jaguar Storm.

Barrie and Robert, I expect that I will have to get an Engineers cert of some description. I do have an acquaintance that builds 'traditional' hotrods and I'm going to talk to him about getting it certified.
Not expecting any major issues.

I've started to write this up in my journal as well, if others are interested. Not much more than what is written in these two posts but stay tuned.

OH, BTW, someone asked about the parking brake. A fairly basic lever arrangement which uses (GASP) Triumph Spitfire pads. Easy to get.
