I purchased my '72 Midget from a scrap yard and it came with an assortment of parts. It had a 1098 motor that is being replaced with a correct 1275. The carbs on the 1098 didn't have the aluminum ear tags, so I don't know where they came from. They are identified by castings on the bodies as AUC 870/871.
Anybody have an idea what these would have come off of?

thanks,
j

IIRC the tags identified the collection of parts (jets, needles, springs, bodies, float bowl adapters, etc) So the body numbers will narrow it down, but not tell the exact model car it was used.

Bottom line, if you are rebuilding them then you just choose the needles you want for your engine and then build up the rest of the carbs like a standard set of HS2s for a spridget.

That was the real question - what rebuild kit to use. Thanks for the answer.
