I've seen those on some Canadian delivery early mid-70s cars. The paint code and paint name was listed as I remember.
Whether they were factory applied (unlikely for just the Canadian specific market) or perhaps at an inspection for damage/quality control? at the POE I don't know.

I initially thought the boot lid was off another car...the word "White" made me think that was the original colour. However, after carefully peeling it off a few days ago I found Blaze under the sticker too. So I think you are right in thinking "N. White" is an inspector or painter.
The car will be painted in a few weeks. "N. White" has been in the boot for 41 years...I think he should return to his rightful place after the respray!
