I have an old fuel pump in my parts bin that wasn't working, so I thought I'd try and revive it. I ordered a set of points from Moss and they came today.
They don't look anything like the points that are currently on the pump (see pics below), and I can't seem to figure out how they would go on there... I haven't taken them out of the bag in case I need to return them.
Can someone provide some direction here? Preferably with pictures of how this should happen?
Thanks,
Chris

Chris - The pump in the first picture is not a SU fuel pump, which is why the points that you got won't work on it. I have not seen a pump shown in the picture (but since I don't work on aftermarket pump, I am not familiar with all that are out there). You might try dragging some sand paper between the contacts on the pump and see if that revives it.

Thanks Dave. For both the confirmation and the suggestion.
I found a John Twist video before I went to bed and the pump looks nothing like showed in that. And looking more carefully at the Moss catalog I can see the differences between their illustration and the pump I have. Should have looked before I ordered those points.
Guess I'll check what pump is on the car and if it's an SU I'll just stash the points as spares.

For those interested, I've identified the fuel pump in question.
It is a Walpro Bellows Fuel Pump model 12V2401.
They discontinued the replacement points for them in 2008 according to the two websites I found that used to sell them. So I guess if Dave's idea of cleaning the points with sandpaper doesn't work it'll be going into the scrap hopper.
