Just installed mine two days ago.
I was certainly afraid of damaging a $700 top.
But it came out pretty well. A pneumatic stapler is a must. Followed Barneys instructions. Thanks Barney!

Here is a photo of me stretching the top made of ever flex. It still didnt stretch enough to get the sidecurtain flaps to meet the windshield.
This was after I put a heater in the cockpit and heated it to 100 degrees F.

You can also stretch the top by relieving the center latch (don't remove it) and move the side windshield latches up as high as possible with removing. Then when you actually put it in place it will be tight.

Same here.
I bought a fancy stayfast version, and the side flaps didn't meet the windshield posts. They miss by around 2". There is NO way they would ever get to the post. You see in Barney's photo that they do.

I had the same problem with the flaps on a Everflex from SF (7 months delivery). Absolutely no satisfaction from Cecilia.

No satisfaction from Cecelia.... what a surprise!

I had no satisfaction in resolving a return with SF even when Peter Tilbury kindly intervened on my behalf - I think he was also seriously disappointed! Credit Card chargebacks rule!

Lets not forget that at Chassis No. 78249 (1600) MG introduced a new hood frame and matching canopy; on this hood the flaps stop short of the windscreen frame by about two inches. I still have one NOS canopy of this type and this is certainly the case with that example.

Alex,
Interesting. Probably explains mine. How was the weather proofing supposed to work?
I would think there would be a gap.

Actually I have not had a problem with the gap. No rain coming in or excessive wind with side curtains. Rain comes in other places though.
