In the 70s last week and we had to make room in the shop. Seems like with closings of other shops around the DFW area, the service and restoration side of our business has gone nuts. Cars that were in the "museum" (read that as dead storage) were now taking up valuable space that could be used for revenue producing work. They had to be moved outa town to cheap storage. Nice weather for it. Of course this week we had freezing rain and then snow. Interesting driving. Now its raining again on our morning neighborhood walk. Snow will be gone by Tuesday.

"Anyone with an intense emotional interest in a subject loses the ability to observe it objectively: You selectively perceive events. You ignore data and facts that disagree with your main philosophy. Even your memory works to fool you, as you selectively retain what you believe in, and subtly mask any memories that might conflict."

Ok I'll be the first to show my ignorance! All are neat cars, but the one that's got my interest piqued
is the first pic, What is it please? And no complaints about your weather, what we have going on
up here in the northeast is almost historic! Cheers and safe, happy moving, Jim Macaulay

Lloyd,
I suspect that you will keep us waiting, but I know most of the cars in the pics, but some escape me.
Pic
1 ? Early Austin, Sunbeam or Jag?.
2 Sunbeam Talbot.
3 Humber Hawk.
4 Ford Anglia, Hillman Minx, and MG ZB Magnette.
5 ? Alvis?.
6 Vauxhall Victor 101 Estate.
Can you put me out of my misery?, Please.

As others have stated, the first car is a Jowett Jupiter.
The rest you have correct except for the mystery car #5 which is a Riley RM 2.5 roadster
The dog is a female Great Pyrenees....Annie

Thanks Lloyd,
No excuse I know, but without the bumper, radiator grill and bonnet I didn't recognize it. Also I didn't realize that it came as other than split screen, but perhaps that was only in convertible guise. A good trip down memory lane none the less.

Graham,
This model is the RMC, and if you look closely you will see that the windscreen folds flat, hence no split screen like the other RMs.

Oh Lloyd, a very nice collection
Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others?"

I got to visit Kip back about 10 years ago, the Jowett Jupiter caught my eye right off the bat, and Kip gave us a history lesson on that car, I think I remember him saying that in it's day the Jowett Jupiter won it's class at Lemans, neat car.
Lloyd, what kind of engine does the Sunbeam Talbot have , a inline six?

Hap,
Those 2267cc made 80 BHP, and a max speed of 95 MPH, according to a book I received for Christmas 1955. I have always liked the lines of the Talbot, a really pretty car, ever since a maiden aunt of mine had one from new. The dash on them was a fascination to me as it was nicely put together with the instruments arranged around the steering column which had a column change if I remember correctly.

I'm glad I'm not near Kip's, it would make me want to spend all my money on old odd stuff, I like the odd stuff. I wanted this so bad the other day, I could taste it.
