I was wondering if anyone had a picture of the real panel sold by Moss Motors as item #16.

I have done a GT rear quarter and it included the bit of rear apron needed to mate to the rear valance. Is the part circled on the GT version also present on the roadster item?

Pete

Never Mind...

I believe I answered my own question with this image from the MOSS UK site. Anyone have any spare ones stashed in the shed? Along with a couple of chrome bumper front fenders?

Pete

PS Thanks Ernie

Pete.

I'm sure you already know this, but thought it would be a good time to remind people.

The BMH complete rear fenders are stamped using tooling for the post 1975 body shell. That means the seams to the deck and rear valence are of the 1975 onward exposed joint butt weld design and location. When fitting these fenders to an early car, the splice points will need to be cut and butt welded.

LaVerne's image gives a good indication of the rear valence joint location.

Kelvin.

I have both rears and the right front, new Moss parts. Wound up buying a parts car instead.

Thanks all. Kelvin...I knew that at one time but had forgotten. Would not be a huge deal.

Those would be perfect. On Saturday, I am off to have a look at a fellow board member's car who had a pretty bad shunt.

If the frame is salvageable, I might be in need of a minor challenge. It looks like it could be fun. It would be a shame to let this one die considering its interesting history.

you can fix that Peter...............at least it slid up over the frame rails in the front.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

First things first, get it on a rack and make sure it is not bent up and if it is, can it be pulled back?

looks like just sheet metal to me....pull out the metal and then cut it off. Not that big a deal for you once you start.

For relatively small magnitudes of deal...

You guys are amazing. If I ever attempted a double-ender like that it definitely would be a big deal...

Apparently a lot of fibreglass there Lloyd. This fellow posted his problems earlier.

you mean more fiberglass than just the valences?

If the hit would have been 6 inches lower, all the frame ends would have been bent and the shell not worth fixing. As it stands, the parts should line up rather well right from the get go.....besides Peter is good at that. He just needs to be pushed a little.

Pete,

Dave sent me an email recently about his "shunt". If you guys need a hand with the car, fire me a PM. I'm handy and eager to learn.

It just occurred to me that clearly having the bumpers still on wouldn't have made any difference to this outcome!!!

Cheers

Mike

The fenders are also fibreglass and the hood is alloy.
